Camden man guilty in heroin overdose

WOODBURY - A Camden man was convicted Wednesday for supplying heroin that resulted in a fatal overdose in 2014.

Joshua L. Rodriguez, 24, was found guilty of first-degree strict liability in the death of Daniel Chakov, 42, who died as a result of a heroin overdose on Oct. 31, 2014, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office said.

Chakov's father, as well as a Swedesboro man who identified Rodriguez as the man who sold Chakov the heroin, testified at the trial. Rodriguez will be sentenced April 21 and faces 10 to 20 years in state prison.
