Unconventional Fling

Rate this book
Jade is in Nashville on her third week of a month-long business trip. She doesn't mind seeing a new city every week, but she's dragging after so many without a break. When a sexy stranger wants to share her breakfast table, she welcomes the change in scenery. The easy banter and teasing that dances behind the eyes of the handsome voice actor have her wondering if just this once, a one-night stand might be worth her time.

Brandon is tired of the playboy image that comes with his cult-celebrity status. When he meets a business woman with a travel schedule as hectic as his, she lights a spark deep inside. The problem is, he's hoping for something long-term, and she's hesitant to start anything that will become long-distance. With less than three days before they go their separate ways, Brandon has to show Jade there's more to them than just an unconventional fling.

Read this and more reviews at A Lust For Reading. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Jade's job has her traveling the majority of the time, which makes relationships difficult. Men she has attempted to date in the past eventually can't handle all of her time away. So maybe just having a little fun is what she needs. Brandon is the voice behind popular anime characters which often has him traveling to various conventions. His good looks and flirtations have unfortunately left him with an undeserved "love em and leave em" reputation. When these two meet at the hotel breakfast one morning, it is instant chemistry and they look to have some fling fun.

Brandon realizes that he wants more than just a few hours with Jade, but she doesn't see how that is possible with both of them constantly on the go. Can they navigate their heavy travel schedules and actually have a real relationship?

This is my third book by Allyson Lindt and I have really enjoyed them all. What I love the most about all of her stories is that she uses geeks as her heroes/heroines. And dammit, I'm glad someone realizes that us geeks can be sexy too! I really got a kick out of Unconventional Fling as it starts off at an anime convention. As someone that goes to New York Comic Con ever year (in 2012 I dressed up as Black Widow and my 4 boys as other Avengers characters), I could totally picture the scene in my head. This was a quick, fun and sexy novella and I will continue to look forward to more books from this author.

ARC for Honest Review

Just when you’re not looking, something sits down right in front of you and makes you think..”why not”. I think what I liked most about this story was it is so believable. Both characters share the loneliness of a job that keeps them traveling. When they meet the chemistry is undeniable. Trying to battle the war going on in their heads of what is right and what is wrong, doubts and insecurities with having a long distance relationship. From start to finish their journey is entertaining and sweet. This story is not long, but not short, and just enough to sit and read in a day. Enjoy!

This is a very fun short read! I love the Anime Convention theme as a setting for this story! The plot is very easy to follow and shows the difficulty of finding love when you spend your life on the road. Brandon quickly owns his mistake when he stands Molly up the second night! Once the happy couple figures out the long distance relationship is possible things develop quite nicely!

Nerdy romance, best ever

I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy!

My Review:
Unconventional Fling is a super short romance but its fun and gives us nerd types a story that puts the geeks in the lime light. In a good way. I totally dug the whole fact that Brandon is the voice character for anime movies. That totally won me. Plus comic-con ? Yes. Although I felt the sex and the relationship could use some improvement I totally dug that this wasn't the typical celebrity romance you see everywhere I've long since grown tired of. It puts the so called losers in a good light and I love it.

My Rating:
5 Stars

Title: Unconventional Fling: A #GeekLove Contemporary Romance
Series: Love Hashtagged
Note: Book 2.5 but has a full ending
Author: Allyson Lindt

This is my review of Unconventional Fling, book 2.5 in The Love Hashtagged Series. I got this 2.5 book in the series free in exchange for an honest review. This is a part of a good world and it can be read as a standalone and it does not have a cliffhanger ending. Despite the length it does move at a good pace and keeps you interested.

This is the story of Molly who sells naughty cartoon clothes (basically is cosplay lingerie which if you think about it is probably a darn good seller right now). Molly travels a lot and as a result she has been single a lot this changes when she runs into Brandon, a strange man who asks to share breakfast with her. Brandon is a voice actor and finds that Molly is a lot like him. They end up having a quick fling and they only have 3 days together and Brandon has to find a way to let Molly know that he wants more than just a fling, he wants forever. The story flows well and despite this being my first book from this Author I enjoyed it and will probably read more of them. Poor Brandon has his work cut out for him convincing Molly to start a relationship when both of them spend long times on the road and she is scared of a long distance relationship. This book has drama, love, romance, love scenes and of course long distance relationship stuff. Be warned it does talk about cosplay and starts at an anime convention.

This is the first time I have read a book by this author and was very pleasantly surprised at how well the book was written, I found the book to be a wonderful entertaining romance and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The story covers Molly a lingerie sales representative who spends a lot of time on the road with little or no time for relationships. Brandon does voice makeovers and is weary of the playboy image, he meets Molly and there is an attraction but there is one slight problem Brandon wants a long term relationship and Molly is hesitant to start a long term relationship as they are both on the road. What you will find in this story is, drama, suspense, attractions, a convention, misunderstandings, a agents deception, long distance relationship, setting ground rules, emotional feelings, declarations of love, moving in, love, romance and sweet loving erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and is well written and the characters are extremely likeable. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a entertaining romance with a happy ending.

Molly travels to sell sexy lingerie. She is in a hotel for a presentation when she meets Brandon. Brandon does cartoon voices and is there for a convention. They meet and have a sort of one night stand. They continue to talk and text and then meet up at another hotel. Neither wants to give up the relationship but Molly starts having doubts about a long distant relationship. They don't talk for several weeks, but both can't get the other off their mind. He wants to make it work, so they meet up and talk. Can they make this work or will they just give up?
Short story. Lots of hot sex. They are almost like two ships passing in the night. There's a very short story at the end about them but I can't get into stories told in the first person.

ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review.

This is just the most unlikely and unbelievable story and to be honest, it kinda made me yawn.
I’m not a huge fan of stories that go overboard on the angst but this had none. No tension, no will they / won’t they and if there was any chemistry, I missed it.

The two MC’s are people who travel for their jobs. Molly is looking for a one night stand and Brandon wants more. Molly gets her one night stand that somehow turns into another and another and they end up with an HEA. This is a short story but it’s too simple. I want to be kept interested with twists and turns. Even the sex was boring zzzzzZZZZZ

This was a nice hot CR SS a quick hot read in the summer. This was a new author to me and the writing was tight, with a nice flow. The characters was nicely written and you changed POV between hero/heroine. The hot stuff was OK, the first erotic scene between them was a bit huh, but the rest was pretty good.
I will try other stuff from this author for sure, she shows potential.

It lacked the extra oomph but I give 3,5 stars rounding up to 4.

Quick, sexy read. The main premise is that of two people with jobs that require a large amount of travel run into each other at a convention. The chemistry between them is hot & intense. Jade heard rumors about Brandon that start them off on the wrong foot. They both are lonely & getting tired of all the time they spend traveling alone. They agree to give a long distance romance a chance. This is a quick, tight plot with interesting characters.

I loved this book. It wasn't quite what I was expecting based off the other books in this series but still good in its own way.I'm not sure what part about this story hit me in a different way than the other books but this one hit so much closer to home. I loved it all even the added story at the end I just wish it might have been a bit more in-debt.
