Naomie Harris wears revealing white crochet dress for Mandela Film Screening in LA

NAOMIE Harris looked every inch the glamorous actress last night as she arrived for the AFL screening of her new film 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom'.

For the unveiling of the film in Los Angeles, the 37-year-old actress wore a chic white crochet dress which showcased her slender figure.

She added a splash of colour to her outfit with a pair of dangling turquoise earrings which she teamed with pale blue open-toe stilettos.

Naomie, who plays Nelson Mandela's former wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in the new biopic, wore her dark hair in loose waves and kept her make up to a minimum with a slick of pink lipstick.

'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' chronicles Nelson Mandela's humble beginnings in Qunu, Eastern Cape, to his 27-year prison sentence on Robben Island and his fight to end apartheid in South Africa.

The film also features 'Luther' star Idris Elba and local established actors Jamie Bartlett, Sthandiwe Kgoroge and Zenzo Ngqobe.

Directed by Justin Chadwick, the film is being hotly tipped to scoop an award at this year's Oscar's and is due to be released in South Africa and the US on November 28.

Both Idris and Naomie attended a private screening of the film on Friday at the White House which was hosted by President Barack Obama. On Saturday they kick started the promotional tour for the film with a press conference at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg.

Earlier this year Naomie spoke to the BBC about her new role and discussed meeting Winnie Mandela for the first time and said: "It was intimidating at first but a real privilege. One of the things you’re really scared about when you are playing someone who is such an icon and such a formidable kind of character – is how do they want to be seen."

Discussing her character’s outsspoken and controversial nature, she continued: "That’s the joy of playing a character who is so controversial and so misunderstood as well

"You have to understand that she is a product of a particular time in history and circumstances and it’s very difficult now to judge those circumstances. She had a terrible time."

Naomie is also set to reprise her role as Ms.Money in the next James Bond film which is due to be released in 2015.

'Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom' will be released in cinema's on 3 January 2014.
