Selden Standard pastry chef honored by Food & Wine as one of America's best

Lena Sareini, pastry chef at celebrated Midtown restaurant Selden Standard, has been named to Food & Wine magazine's list of the 10 Best New Chefs in America. 

The Dearborn native, a 2013 graduate of Schoolcraft College's baking and pastry arts program, joined Selden Standard in 2015 soon after its opening. She has been a James Beard Awards semifinalist on several occasions in the Rising Star Chef of the Year category.

For 30-plus years, the Food & Wine list has been recognizing future culinary stars early in their careers. Tom Colicchio, Michael Symon and Stephanie Izard were among those honored in previous years.
