Waking Sarah is book three in the Vegas Mates series by Krystal Shannan. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by the author.

Sarah McLain has been grieving the death of her fiancé for six months. He was murdered. Sarah knows nothing of the supernatural world but has suffered nightmares her entire life, nightmares of a voice in her head. She thinks she is crazy and has seen countless doctors. She takes sleeping pills to try to avoid the nightmares but nothing helps.

She has left Las Vegas for her friend Margaret and Scott O’Hearn’s wedding. She is staying at their newly renovated Inn in the mountains. Margaret and Scott invite Sarah to stay on for a few days as a mini vacation. What they really plan, though, is to explain to Sarah that the voice in her head is indeed real. That she is related to royalty, werewolf royalty. But that she is also half human. The wolf side needs to be released. The full moon is in a couple of days and with the help of a witch friend, they can unlatch the hold and let her wolf free which will give her peace.

At the same time, while Sarah is at the Inn, she meets a friend of Margaret’s that is also staying there, Chris Michaels. For the first time in six months, Sarah enjoys the company of another man. She feels attracted to him and in her dreams, the voice in her head tells her that this man is her mate.

“He was falling hard. What was it about this tiny little redhead that got to him?”

sexy times:

Not all wolves are lucky enough to ever find their true mate. But it isn’t enough for the human side to feel it, the animal side must also feel the magick. As soon as Chris met Sarah, he felt attracted to her, protective of her as a human. But her wolf hadn’t come to the surface yet so he had no way of knowing if she could be his mate. He can’t risk hurting her until she goes through the change. Then, when her wolf is released, he can see if they are true mates.

At the same time, Renata is still wreaking havoc with her plan of revenge.

“Both wolf and woman were strong. But the tides had turned in her favor and she fully intended to make her enemies pay. She would have her revenge on those who’d ordered the death of her true mate. No matter who they were and by any means necessary.”

 photo wolfrunning_zpsdfbabe78.gif

The night Sarah accepted her wolf side was actually kind of awesome. She was so frightened of the unknown but I thought she handled it really well. And of course, then there was Chris.

“I knew the mate bond was powerful, but I could never have imagined this.”

I really enjoyed this one. Actually, it might be one of my favorites of this series. As I said in the previous review, each book in the series is about a different couple but the core of the story is ongoing. I can’t wait to see what happens next in book four, Taking Nicole.

The third book in the Vegas Mates series is an entertaining paranormal story with suspense, action and lots of passion.

Sarah is a human has been tormented by a voice in her mind since childhood and she is trying to deal with the loss of her fiancé, so she wasn’t really in the mood to attend her best friend’ wedding. She is surprised to find out her true ancestry and that it may be answer to the voice. Chris has been appointed as the trainer for the latent werewolves and his attraction and connection to his first student, Sarah, has caught him by surprise. Meanwhile, the war with the council and Renata continues.

The author captures the readers’ imagination with compelling and strong characters, drama and emotion filled conflicts, red hot passion and sizzling sex scenes. With a smooth flowing plot that progresses at an even steady pace, and a vivid picture of the details, the readers can’t help but feel like they are part of the story.

The main plot grabs the reader’s attention from the first page and with the intriguing twists and turns, keeps the readers from putting the book down until the very end. Add in the sub plot of the war with the council and the evil actions of Renata and the reader really doesn’t want the story to end.

I loved this series and I really can’t decide which one is my favorite. I find that they all are well written and captivating and lots of passion that has me impatiently waiting for the next one.

Received an ARC for an honest review.

This is the third installment in the Vegas Mates series and it does not disappoint. Sarah McLain is in a pit of despair. Six months ago she lost her fiancé to a violent animal attack, sending her back home to Vegas to stay with her parents. Now she is sitting in the audience for the wedding of her good friend Margaret as she marries Scott, reeling from her pain. She is plagued by nightmares and doesn't understand why.

Chris Michaels has been chasing Nicole Demakis for years, when she turns 25 he realizes she's not his intended mate. He meets Sarah, he feels a connection. She doesn't know who or what she is, can she be his mate?

Reneta Demakis is on a one-woman vengeance filled killing spree. Systematically hunting down all who the Council deems unworthy. Sarah is a latent wolf, meaning she is only half wolf. The wolf must be brought forth before Reneta can get to her. The pack must protect and change as many

When Sarah's wolf is brought to the surface will Chris be her mate? Things continue to spiral out of control and the war is just beginning. With a lot of the key members dead, will the North American supernaturals prevail?

I am usually not a fan of short books, but this series has me intrigued. I am anticipating who will mate next, what type of shifter they will be, and how this war will play out. Will Reneta ever get control of her wolf, or will it be the end of her whats left of her family?

Waking Sarah is the third book in Krystal Shannan’s amazing Vegas Mates series, and it’s interesting to see it coming from a different angle. Sarah has no idea about her wolf side, and she isn’t too happy when she does find out.

Chris has always been a wolf, and he trusts his wolf with everything, and with his wolf not claiming Sarah but him feeling like she’s his mate there is a whole lot of confusion for both man and wolf. He wants Sarah, but is worried that when she finally embraces her wolf she won’t feel the same.

The sub plot of Renata and the mischief she’s up to ties this story to the others, as well as the reappearance of past characters. The Renata plot advances but is far from tied up since I imagine it will be a major plot point in future books.

I highly recommend this book, it’s a delightful read that moves quickly and brings some serious sexiness and emotion to the table.

Sarah thinks that she is slowly sliding into madness. She has been hearing a voice in her head for years and she rarely sleeps without medication because of it. She lost her fiancee 6 moths ago and her family worry that she may undertake something drastic to end her grief.

When she attends her best friends wedding she meets Chris and feels a pull towards him. But when he and the other members of the pack introduce her to her hidden wolfy side, Sarah thinks she has finally lost it! She can't turn into an animal...can she?

Chris is the trainer to the new latent wolves which the pack have found. Sarah is a tough one to crack but when can she embrace her inner wolf or will she slowly wither in front of him. He can't let that happen, after all she is his mate!

Great paced story with passion off the scales between Chris and Sarah. The tragedy endured by Sarah is not glossed over, she gets to really feel emotion for her lost love. But she also has the ability to move on, if she can be brace enough to take that first step.

The evil Renata is still on the scene and causing havoc and I loved the lead in to the next book, featuring Nicole!

Oh my gosh! They just keep getting better and better! I'm now torn on which one is my favorite. Book 2 or this one. I think they are tied. I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review and honest I am. This book was AMAZING! I LOVED it!!! I thought the sexual heat and awareness between Margaret and Scott was hot but I almost think that they have nothing on Chris and Sarah. The sex scenes even get hotter as the books go on! When it comes to paranormal romances I am usually more into Vampire books. So when I really enjoy a shifter book then to me that makes it an awesome book!

Sarah doesn't know that she is a wolf shifter. She medicated herself so she would stop hearing the voice in her head. She had no idea that it was her wolf talking to her. She is going through a major depression after having lost her fiancé 6 months ago. And going to Scott and Margaret's wedding does not make it any easier. As much as she is happy for her friends she can't help resenting them at the same time because of what she had lost. So imagine her surprise and guilt for the way she feels when she meets Chris.

Chris has been wanting to find his mate and settle down with a family. So far every female he thought might be it turns out to not be. Then he meets Sarah and starts to feel things for her. But she is still technically a human so there is no way for him to know yet for sure if she is his mate. But there is something about her and he just can't stay away from her. Everything in him tells him she is his even though his wolf does not agree.

Sarah all of us sudden has so much to deal with. The fact that she is a wolf and they need to awaken her wolf. That people are trying to kill her, her feelings for Chris and the fact that Chris won't do anything with her until her wolf is awakened and they know for sure. All they changes being a wolf is going to make in her life. This is a lot for someone to handle. It will definitely take her being very strong.

Once her wolf is awakened ,which was something in itself, There are good situations and then there is just bad situation after bad situation. Bad decisions are made with awful conclusions. It will take determination and sacrifices to make the situation better.

I cannot say enough how much I loved this book! You should definitely read this series and this book is just the icing on the cake of a great series so far! I highly recommend reading this!

Sarah McClain is doing her best to support her best friend, who is preparing for the journey of a lifetime. But it hasn't been easy. Just six months ago, Sarah herself was engaged. As she and her fiancee' prepared to share the news, he was taken from her, murdered, leaving Sarah lost and heartbroken. And now, the troublesome voices in her head that have kept her up at night for most of her life have intensified… voices and dreams and a nagging presence that only sleeping pills have managed to control. After suffering such a great loss, she wonders how she will move forward.

As her friend's wedding event concludes, she and some of the guests gather at the Woodhaven Inn--a secluded luxury inn, nestled deep in a forested region of Utah, with an abundance of wildlife. Lulled by the beauty of her surroundings, Sarah relaxes enough one morning to share breakfast and a chat with Chris Michaels, who is not only handsome and attentive, but seems genuinely concerned about her well being. Unbeknownst to Sarah, Chris has been assigned to coach her, and to ease her into a world of supernatural shape-shifters… a world that, before today, she never knew existed. So how is he going to convince her that the voice in her head she's been hearing her whole life is her wolf? He has his work cut out for him. But it is imperative, as Sarah's wolf must awaken to the world if Sarah is to survive.

Sarah is likable, relatable, and stays true to character throughout the story. As she begins her daunting journey into the unknown, you can't help but root for her! We revisit our friends and foes from the first two books, and meet some new supernaturals, too! Vampires and witches add an entirely new element to the story, and the blending of worlds is both seamless and complimentary to the series! Of course, we are treated to plenty of the descriptive romance we've come to know and love from the Vegas Mates, complete with all the intimate details! Finally, this book wouldn't be complete without Krystal Shannan's unending humor! Sarah protests, "Damn man … thinks I'm some kind of a freaking magickal werewolf?" Ha! Sarah's journey has just begun, indeed. And whether she knows it yet or not, it will be magickal.

This is the third book in the Vegas Mates series. I find this series more and more in depth and interesting with each book. I am loving this series

This book is about Sarah McLain and we found out that she is part wolf and not just a wolf from any line but of the royal line. It seems like everyone knew but her (poor thing), not only is she healing from a broken heart but doesn't think she is going crazy.

Enter Chis Michaels who brings Sarah back from the edge in more way then one. When he is not pissing her off over "hiding" things he is making her feel safe and makes her see there are somethings worth living for.

I hate spoiling stories and this one would be so easy for me to because I truly love the story line of the series and the characters.

There are some new characters which add to the storyline, we find out more about the council and what evil Renata is up to in this book but it leaves you with more questions and Krystal leaves you with a cliffhanger and leaving you wanting more.

By the way she is really good at that and I love and hate her for it cause I want to know what happens next... Guess i just have to wait till the next book. I hate waiting.

* I received and ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

Waking Sarah is Krystal Shannan's third book in her Vegas Mates Series. Each book can be read as a stand alone book but I do recommend to read each book in order because there are lots of continuing plots that can be confusing if you haven't read the other books.

In Waking Sarah, Sarah is depressed over the death of her fiancee and she medicates herself to stop the voices in her head. Turns out she is a latent shifter and with Chris Michael's help she discovers her true self.

This is hard for me to review because I don't want to spoil the story. There is a lot going on in the story line that it would be easy to spoil. I liked Sarah and Chris and all the on-going characters. The author Krystal Shannan has created a unique shifter world with fascinating characters and true villains. All the trials and tribulations they have to go through are quite interesting but all the drama made me frustrated several times. I like drama but not tons of drama and this book has lots of drama. On the other hand, I can look past the drama because for someone like me who has read tons of shifter books, it is great to read a story that is original and different from other shifter series.

I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

The story is simple, but so good. I also liked the world building, it's not a huge world to get introduced to, but the things we learn where done very good. I also really liked Sarah, she is such a strong character and takes her time to think things through and she does things her way. I really liked how the author created a character I could see myself being friends with.

This plot is pretty intense. Chris and Sarah are passionate together. They must take turns fighting for each other through each challenge that comes their way. There is danger and a few twists near the end besides the romance. The characters are introduced quickly and there is heat between Chris and Sarah instantly due to their matehood, but love is not instant nor is it easy. They are written with depth and I really liked them.

Overall, This is my favorite book from the author so far! My heart pounded, I laughed, I got all teary eyed, I got angry, and I smiled. What more can I ask for from a reading experience? I recommend this book - especially if you enjoy shifter and/or predestined mating stories. It is a highly enjoyable read.

Waking Sarah is the 3rd book in the Vega Mates series. This book is the story of the latent, heartbroken wolf Sarah and the sexy, sweet, beta wolf Chris. Sarah is a lost soul after the death of her fiancé and thinking she is off her rocker from hearing a voice in her head. She is at the end of her rope, but a small gesture from Chris turns her around. Chris is there to help Sarah accept her wolf and claim her as his mate. Once Sarah’s wolf comes to be will she and Chris be true mates? Or will the evil Renata destroy them?
Great paranormal read!! I love this series. The way the author brings you in from page one and keeps you captivated until the end. The story moves at a steady pace and does not stall. You will fall in love with all of the characters. I thought “Saving Margaret” was my favorite but now I think “Waking Sarah” has that honor. I highly recommend this book and the series!

I a really loving this series It has all the things I look for in my shifter crack. It is hot, has suspense, features more than one kind of paranormal, and keeps me guessing. Sarah's story is different from the others in that she is a latent wolf and does not even know that the paranomal world exists. Not only does she think she may be crazy, but she is still dealing with the grief of losing someone she loved. Chris is one of the wolves brought in to help the latent wolves as the discover their true selves. He is sweet, smart, powerful and of course hot. I loved watching them form a bond before they knew they were mates. It added a different dynamic then the previous two books and kept things fresh. I also loved the darkness of this book . Renata is a whole new kind of crazy evil and seeing where that leads is going to be a fun ride. Well, not fun for them because she is cruel, evil and a murderer. I am very much looking forward to book 4.

Wow! Is about all I can say now. I am still trying to catch my breath. This is an awesome read. If I were to choose which of the three titles in the series was my favourite Waking Sarah wins was hands down.
It can be read as a stand-alone, however you will definitely be tempted to read the other books in the series as the characters from the previous series appears in this title.
This is an easy read and it pulled me in from the very first page. The romance between Sarah and Chris was hot and sizzling. It took some time for Sarah to come to grips with her feelings for Chris in light of the personal tragedy she had experienced some months ago.
I wanted more and was so disappointed when it ended. I am now a die-hearted fan of Krystal and I can’t wait to read more of her work.
This is definitely a must read for lovers of paranormal/ werewolves/shape shifter romance.

When one feels like the world around you is crashing down, what do you do?? You go home to family and friends to celebrate a marriage and new beginnings... But what happens when your world tilts on its axis as you learn that you are not what you thought you were. With the help of her closest friends and Chris, the Beta of the pack, Sarah must come to grips that her private nightmare and loss really was not due to chance but evil circumstance.
This is one of the best books that Krystal Shannon has written to date. If you are dying to get your hands on a great paranormal romance that has a few surprises you need to read this book. The balance between the darkness of Renata and the connection between mates is truly wonderful.
I love this story and can not wait for the next Vegas Mates story to be written...

Another great one by Krystal Shannan. A paranormal romance with major twists and all sorts of paranormal creatures. I thought these two main characters were great. Sarah lost
her finance and has been in deep depression from nightmares of a voice in her head ( she doesn't know its part of her) and loosing the love of her life. Chris a sexy as hell wolf shifter who has been searching for his mate it seems like forever so when he finds her he doesn't want to let go but there's more.....this is a must read, very mysterious, sweet, sexy and a lot magical book. I loved Chris's Character so sweet and sexy and loving trying to help Sarah with her wolf within, all the characters from past book make appearances and it makes the book awesome. As the book continues lives are at stake, bonds are made and lives are healed. 4.5 stars

This was an amazing read for me and I will re-read it again. Krystal grabbed me at the prologue and had me demanding more at the last page. I could not believe the book had ended. I just really love how the story involves love, family and change. It is a fantastic read and you all know that I am not a person to give spoilers but, I cannot think of any book I have read in 2013 that made me scream when I saw I was at the end. This is an absolute must read, and if you read the eBook you just may want to purchase a paperback in case something happens to technology. Great job Krystal, I told you I would give you an honest review. Ok so don't take my word for it people hurry read it for yourselves then come post your review.

In the spirit of full disclosure I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Waking Sarah is book #3 of the Vegas Mates series.

Sarah is a little red headed firecracker, when not grieving over her ex fiancee's death. When she meets Chris, sparks fly in many different ways between them. Both are grieving the loss of a loved one, which gives them common ground to start from. The characters jump to life from page one, the plot has many unexpected twists. I enjoyed catching up with the couples from the previous books and all the side characters. This one ends with a cliffhanger that will likely have readers salivating for the next book.

I was given a copy of this book.

Crazy Wolf Still At Large!
What did I like?
It is good that they main group is dealing with the changes that are coming this way, while keeping everyone as safe as possible. The heroine is smart and I'm glad her parents are finally getting an explanation, even if they can't act on it.

What did I not like?
Freaking crazy wolf chick is still at large and the damned double dealing council; I just want to beat the council with a really large stick.

Would I recommend this to a friend?
This series is better read in order. I'm looking forward to more books in this series. It is a good read and while each book focuses on a different couple the overall story line is still in progress.

I really enjoyed this series so far! In Waking Sarah, you have the beautiful and fiery Sarah who is trying to deal with the loss of her fiancée, learning she is a shifter and from royal blood and finding love again! Chris Michaels just wants to find her true mate and not be lonely anymore. He instantly is attracted to Sarah but once she shifts will she be his true mate! Must read to find out! Will Chris be able to keep Sarah safe long enough for them to find out if their meant for one another? Can't wait for the next book!

I have to say I was very disappointed to see the story end. I enjoyed watching the different relationship develops. In the background regarding how painful it can be to deny your inner animal was interesting to see.I like the fact that there are several components in the story and it isn't just about a boy and a girl.I was just spoke to anyone who likes shifter books but suggested you read the prior to first because background would be very helpful in this book. I am looking forward to the next book hoping it comes out soon.

Waking Sarah by Krystal Shannon is a perfect mixture of everything were, wolves, bears, cats and more. I really loved the unique combination of love story and mystery. This is fast becoming one of my favorite series. The characters are, or become, strong and consistent. The mystery is thorough and the story line well planned out. I guessed a bit too early at the ending and was thrown completely off. Because this is part of a series, some of the mystery remains. But the love story is a true HEA.

Chris never thinking that he will find a mate does not even know that she has been looking at him all of the time.

This was a good book and a solid addition to this series. In my opinion, you really need to read these books in order to get the most out of them. Characters are introduced, reappear, vital events occur and there is a large and important overarching story that is unfolding. So while you might be able to enjoy a single book, I believe that for the most part you will just be left feeling very confused and like you've missed something, which you will have. Now as for this book. I was very intrigued by the premise of this book and quite excited to read Chris and Sarah's story and while I liked the characters and the book I also felt a bit let down about it all. To start I feel the short length of this book played a huge part in the dissatisfaction I ended up feeling. I think Sarah's history, the shocking discovery she had to deal with about herself, the ramifications she struggled with because of her lack of such knowledge and her being able to come to terms with all of the above was just a lot to be dealt with in such a short book. So of course things are kept fairly superficial and everything works out very quickly, which was OK but I did mourn the waste of so much great potential. I'm also really beginning to hope that "The Good Guys" smarten up a bit. In this battle of good vs evil and commoner vs elite the stakes keep getting higher and the losses are mounting. I know we need things to move the story along and set up the next book but a real game plan, some proactiveness and yeah, even some common sense would be great to see. Even with these issues I enjoyed this book and am eager to see what happens in the next one. The blend of drama, action, suspense, danger, violence, passion and romance is addictive and has you fully invested in these characters and the outcome of the war that is raging.
