About the Business
Established in 2009. Uptown Cheapskate Salt Lake is the first Uptown Cheapskate store in the country. Founded by brother-sister team Scott and Chelsea Sloan, Uptown is a national franchise with more than 30 stores in 14 states. Uptown is primarily a resale store, but the Sloans opted to bring in new product as well from major mall brands when they could get it at a discount and pass on the savings. This leads to an upscale environment with an awesome selection of product that literally flips over every month or two. Uptown has received awards from the Utah Student 25, the Entrepreneur's Organization's Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and made the Franchise 500 list for 2012 as one of the 20 top new franchises of the year.

Love love love Uptown Cheapskate! Such a great place to sell your preloved clothing and to find some treasures! I have been to 6 Uptown Cheapskate locations and every time the staff is friendly, the selection is amazing and I always leave with a smile!

I always find the most items at Uptown Cheapskate in downtown compared to other thrifts here in SLC :) I love it! They're also really timely when you drop off clothes to be sorted!

Fast and easy way to make money cleaning out your closet. People are pretty laid back and it's not a long wait surprisingly because the location is down town

Very clean and organized. Found multiple pieces I couldn't find at different thrift stores. Fitting rooms were lovely. Friendly staff, as well.

I'm in town for a conference, and it was so last minute I had to find a couple things for me to wear to be both professional at the conference and comfortable in the hotel room. They had everything I needed even swimsuits For the sauna and sports wear for the gym! Full package from full outfits to accessories! so glad this place was close and pieces were in such great shape. Wish I lived closer, the staff was great! Thank you
