On September 22, the Alliance for Aging Research and the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) hosted a Twitter Chat on the importance of vaccines for older adults.

Vaccine-preventable diseases cause significant illness, hospitalization, pain, disability, and death in the United States, particularly when it comes to older adults. Yet, vaccination rates in older adults aren’t where they need to be. This Twitter chat focused on why older adults should get vaccinated every year, the dangers of not doing so, and a variety of advice on recommended vaccine schedules, Medicare’s coverage of vaccines, and where to get vaccinated.
