Uganda: Bwindi Mgahinga Conservation Trust - BMCT

Bwindi Mgahinga Conservation Trust (BMCT) established under the Uganda Trust Act in 1994, is a registered Conservation Trust Fund mandated to work in a radius of two parishes adjacent to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (BINP)and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (MGNP) also known as Bwindi Mgahinga Conservation Area (BMCA).

The area of operation is located in south Western Uganda, in the three districts of Kabale, Kanungu and Kisoro. Vision: The biodiversity and ecosystem health of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park conserved in harmony with the development needs of the surrounding communities. Mission: BMCT will foster conservation of biodiversity in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through investment in community development projects, grants for research and ecological monitoring, funding park management and protection, and programs that create greater conservation awareness.
