The Indianapolis Colts are leading the Denver Broncos 26-14 at halftime on Sunday Night Football in Week 7.
After the Indianapolis crowd gave Peyton Manning a warm welcome back to the town where he dominated for so many years, the Colts hit the ground running on the field.
A few balls bounced Indianapolis' way early. Trindon Holliday fumbled a punt return and Manning was sacked for a safety. The two big plays resulted in nine points for the Colts.
Both quarterbacks played well in the first half, but Andrew Luck actually outplayed his predecessor. Luck threw for more yards, one more touchdown and avoided turnovers to help the Colts out to a two-score lead in the first half. Luck took advantage of every possession, looking comfortable and showing no panic, even after the Broncos stormed out to a 7-0 lead.
The ovation for Manning was touching, but Luck have the Colts fans even more to cheer about, rising to the occasion of the marquee matchup in the first 30 minutes of play.
