Shailene Woodley & Rosario Dawson Protest Dakota Access Pipeline
Shailene Woodley and Rosario Dawson attend the Stop The Dakota Access Pipeline protest at Union Square on Sunday (August 7) in New York City.
The pair held up signs and marched with others to stop the transport of crude oil from North Dakota into Illinois. The pipeline would interfere with Native American territory (the Standing Rock Reservation). Shailene has been posting videos from the protests on Facebook.
“We need to stand together; we need to wake up. We cannot let the fossil fuel industry continue to walk over all people in this country and especially Native American people,” Shailene said in one post.
You can sign the petition and stand with the Native Americans. At the time of this posting, the petition has 164,028 signatures.
