MSU Wind Symphony - 2019 CBDNA National Conference

On Friday, June 1, I received a message from the President of the College Band Directors National Association telling me that our MSU Wind Symphony has been accepted and invited to appear in concert at the 2019 CBDNA National Conference, to be held at Arizona State University in February. No large ensemble from MSU has ever before been honored with an invitation such as this. Other groups chosen to appear at this conference include: Louisiana State University University of Illinois Hartt School of Music Arizona State University California State University - Fullerton University of Southern California

It is thrilling to be able to tell you of this news, and I am so proud of the work our students have done to earn this invitation.

As you might imagine, transporting 60 people and their instruments across the country is a costly venture, and the administration of Montclair State has already been very helpful in helping to provide financial assistance. However, given the lack of state government support of institutions of higher learning in New Jersey (NJ ranks near the bottom), we will need more financial support in order to make this tour happen.  

Any help you could provide would of course be appreciated, and it might be helpful to know that a tax-deductible donation of $500 would help to underwrite the cost of one student's travel to Arizona.  

A donation of $500 will help significantly with the cost of travel for one student.

A donation of $250 will help pay for transportation for one student. 

A donation of $100 will help cover expenses for one student.

A donation of ANY amount will help send these talented students on the trip of a lifetime!
