Suspended Florida guard Scottie Wilbekin will join the Gators when they begin basketball practice next Friday, coach Bill Donovan said.
The 6-foot-2, 176-pound senior from Gainesville, Fla. will also be with the team at its media day Wednesday.
. Just how much hasn't been determined yet.
Wilbekin averaged 9.1 points, five assists and 2.9 rebounds and shot 45.3 percent from 3-point range as the Gators went 29-8 (14-4 in the SEC) on their way to a berth in the Elite Eight last season.
The Gators open at home against North Florida Nov. 8th.
"Starting the season, the team that's on paper will not be our team. It's just not," Donovan said. "So I think trying to get our guys to come together as a team is the biggest challenge. We're kind of disconnected right now, so this preseason, these first practices, we have to do some team-building."
Wilbekin was suspended indefinitely back in June.
