Man charged after killing over land in Autauga

PRATTVILLE —  A suspect has been charged in an Autauga County shooting over a land dispute.

Joseph Huffman, 73, of the 400 block of County Road 82, is being held in the Autauga Metro Jail under bonds totaling $30,000, Autauga County Sheriff Joe Sedinger said.

Deputies were called about noon Saturday to the 400 block of County Road 82, he said. The call was about a man being shot. The victim was 59-year-old John Brown of the 300 block of County Road 82, Sedinger said.

An apparent argument over a land dispute may have led up to the shooting, he said.
