I have been drooling over and pinning photos of interior black doors for awhile now, like this one and the images from this site. I also LOVE exterior black doors and we had painted the front door of our last house black.
Well, one activity-free day to ourselves and an impending party weekend quickly approaching, we decided to dive in! Here are our two front doors from the inside (before).
I posted this photo on Instagram as I was painting. It was my first time painting a door but I followed a this tutorial and I actually enjoyed it! The hubs was sweet and removed the door from the hinges for me so I could paint it more easily.
He went to work on the other door in our foyer.
The interior sides were going so quickly, that we decided to do the exterior sides that day too!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the black doors...they look amazing! You did a great job!
I'm with you on the black. I use it at least once in EVERY room of our home. I find that it "grounds" the room visually.
I painted mine a really dark expresso color brown instead of black on the inside cause I already had a gallon of that. I love it. I have only done the inside front but I have plans to get them all in the house done. That looks great esp on the outside.
I've been working up the courage to paint our bedroom hall doors black. I too have been loving the looks. I did share something I did to our dining area door, if you have a moment hop on over a check it our ;)

It's perfect! The contrast with the white trim is amazing and the moulding around your front door fits the black like a glove. Yay for being brave!

they look awesome! we need to do something to our interior doors... i have been thinking black bu they are just plain hollow and UGLY.
I think they look nice, but I had a bad experience with painting my front door black. I must of had the wrong shade or sheen, ours got painted over it didn't look good at all!
My new-to-me house has double front doors painted black. I love them! The doors themselves are a little wonky and I believe replacing them with aluminum doors has been mentioned. Gasp of shock! I love them, wonkiness and all!
I painted the inside of my front door black a few weeks ago and it was by far the easiest but most dramatic DIY project I've ever done. I only wish I had done it sooner - like 10 years ago. LOL
