Duffy's Sports Grill

I was in the grove for Saturday errands and stopped at Duffy's partly on the recommendation of my Uber driver and because I was fiending a good burger. I'd been to their northern restaurants more than once and always had a solid meal. Their Coconut Grove had all the standard sports memorabilia (giving me a chance to the give the New England Cheatriot helmet the one finger salute :) and their hostess and managers were friendly, but there are a few bugaboos that keep me from rating it higher.

Even though it was lunch time and technically day drinking, their mojito game was a little inconsistent. It was hard to taste the alcohol on the second one. The potato skins I ordered were pretty tasty, no complaints on the taste. I did have to remind my waitress to bring them. However, the (incomplete) burger which I ordered along with the skins, came first.

Incomplete because even though I ordered caramelized onion, the burger first came with raw onions (yes, I'm picky and it says so in my yelp nickname). Afterward, the onions were perfectly sweet and the buffalo chicken sandwich hot and spicy. They did correctly omit the pickles as requested. The key lime pie, with raspberry drizzle and whipped creme, was the highlight with no service issues.

One thing I notice is that the manager and front hostess had to come by a couple of times because I couldn't find my waitress. Still and all, it's a decent place to grab a burger in the Grove.

You can tell this is a sports bar from the moment you walking. There have helmets, jerseys and other sports gear decorating the place.
I order my food to-go, so I can't speak on the service but the cashier was cool.
I saw a lot of reviews on their mozzarella sticks, so I decided to give them a try. I wasn't impressed at all and it took me a minute to tell if I even liked them. My issue was that the mozzarella was gooey in addition tot the cheese sticks being greasy.
Once I let the grease "dry", I could taste the flavor of the mozzarella stick. They were huge and tasted pretty good once they cooled down.I just didn't like how greasy they were.

I've been to this place quite a bit, mostly on my lunch break and vey rarely for happy hour.

They have a great selection of food. A little of everything. Pasta, steak, Mexican, healthy options, and much more! So much to choose you are just too indecisive! But hey, that's not a bad thing!

They have an all day every 2-4-1 drink special. This is a great deal for beer. I'm a scotch & whiskey drinker, and a black label on the rocks was like $16/18. I don't think that's a deal to brag about. They do have a great selection of specialty cocktails as well.

The main downside about this place is the service. It's consistently bad. The servers are nice, but this place is neverrrr busy when I go and for some reason it takes forever for everything. Someone to greet, come around to refill your water, check back on your table, bring you the check... I already know I need to order fast and ask for my check as soon as they ring in my food.

Ian wanted Puri/Dosa, so we went to Coconut Grove. However, the Indian restaurant there (Bombay Darbar) was closed on Tuesday. So, we walked a block and ended up at Duffy's.

We ordered the following:
2 for 1 Mojito
Full rack ribs
Wings 3 way
Rice and beans for Ian.

Total with taxes and tip came to $56.34

Pros:
2 for 1 special in itself was a kickass deal. Mojito being a really refreshing drink was a bonus. Kudos to the bartender. (+1)
Ribs were very tender.

Cons:
Hostess tried to seat us by the bathroom when the restaurant was kind of half empty. Mrs. wanted a knife, and extra napkins. It took them a while to make it happen (-1)
Nothing great happening with the wings.

Duffy's is an awesome place to go for yummy food and great drinks! Let's start with the drinks (bc they are my favorite) First thing: they have buy one get one free drinks 24/7!!! And it's not just beer and wine but actual cocktails as well. They have so much variety in the drinks and on top of it all, it's delicious!! My absolute favorite drink is the gummy bear mojito! So far none have topped it. The food is also good but my favorite are the wings (firecracker or hot) with sweet potato fries.
TIP: I have gone to this one and the Kendal one and I HIGHLY recommend this Duffy's. The food and service are much better PLUS the Kendall one is always way too packed.

When I first got here, I went to the bathroom. Y'all I hate being super critical but the bathroom was so dirty. I was a little taken back.

When I got to the bar the bartender had to clean in front of me because there was some spillage and napkins in front of me. (It was pretty empty and slow).

By the bar, it smelled like straight dookie. It was terrible.

I know this has nothing to do with Duffy's, but the people next to me were rude and their conversation/loudness was so off putting I chugged my drink and ran out of there.

By far my fav place to go and have some cold beer and delicious crispy crunchy wings and fall of the bone ribs. I was definitely disappointed in my fries which was cold and soggy which should never be served anywhere. I had to tell the server to return them which I hate doing and when I got another batch (looked like the same ones I got the first time) it felt like it was thrown in the fryer for sec and taken out ( all greased up). Got to do better on the fried Duffys please

Came here to watch a Dolphins vs Patriots game with the hubby. It's a real manly sports bar. Testosterone at every table loud and shouting at the television screens. I found it very entertaining. LOL
Our waitress was fast and attentive.
The food was freaking great though. I have to admit although it didnt look appetizing the flavor was Everything. We had the fried mushrooms as an appetizer and I had the Philly cheese steak and hubby had a fish sandwich. Everything was cooked perfectly, not greasy at all, and seasoned perfectly. My tastebuds were very pleaaed. Will definitely come back to watch another game and to stuff my face!

This is one of our favorite bars to grab a quick bite and drinks without spending too much. They always have two for one deals and you can get a points card to collect points every time you go. We usually start with the mushroom appetizer that's a bit spicy, and then wings or a sandwich. This time around we had sandwiches and salad, they were all good. The service is always good too. During the week or even Sunday afternoons there is always room unless there's a game or something then I'm sure it's not that easy to find seats. The bar is always busy with guys drinking beers and watching games.

We lost our favorite server Yaritsa but We got Danny and he is spectacular!!!
On point with checking up on the table and making sure all the whole order came to the table, Drinks? He is the master on getting your drinks fast to your table, if you come over to Duffy's make sure you ask for Danny!
