At this year’s breakfast, we look forward to highlighting the importance of cy pres funds, or residual funds in class action cases, to the IBF and the roles that attorneys and judges can play in recommending organizations to receive these awards.

ABOUT THE HONOREES
Hon. Celia G. Gamrath, Cook County Circuit Court Chancery Division and Bronze Champion of the IBF, will receive the 2023 Distinguished Service to Law & Society Award in recognition of her significant contributions to the legal community and her dedicated service to the Illinois Bar Foundation and the Illinois State Bar Association.
We are pleased to honor an exceptional law firm with this year’s Honorary Champion Award, Stephan Zouras, LLP, recognized not only for their work which sets an example to which others aspire, but for their ongoing championing of the IBF in the world of class action lawsuits.

Proceeds of this event will benefit the Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF). The IBF’s mission is to ensure meaningful access to the justice system, especially for those with limited means, and to assist lawyers who have fallen on hard times.
