Dash cam captures the moment a police officer HIT a couple on a motorcycle
- Couple rear-ended by state trooper on highway

Newly released video shows the moment an Ohio police officer rammed his car into the back of a couple on a motorbike.
The crash occurred on August 17 but the clip has only just been released as a grand jury decides whether the trooper involved should face charges.
Footage of the smash shows the trooper's patrol car rear-end Amy and Corey Waldman on a road at night, throwing them both onto the hood of the car and then onto the road.

It appears the policer office did not see the couple ahead of him as he was driving along the highway.
Trooper Jacob Daymon appears not to slow down, swerve out of the path of the motorcycle or do anything of a sort to avoid a collision.

After colliding with the couple, the officer reversed his car before getting out and asking if they are alright.
Ms Waldman was airlifted to a local hospital while her husband was taken there by ambulance.

The couple, who were heading out for a date to get coffee, has credited their survival to their helmets and have said they have forgiven the trooper for his momentary lapse in concentration.
2 NEWS based in Ohio have looked into Trooper Daymon's personal file which shows he's never been disciplined, in fact he was 2012 Trooper of the Year.
The station contacted the police officer to obtain an account of what happened and he said, ‘He was advised by an attorney not to speak with anyone about it.’
Since the crash, the couple are apparently not doing well.
Mr. Waldman is still undergoing x-rays and tests whilst his wife is still suffering from a concussion.
