The Uruguayan striker stays put on Merseyside
After two months of comings and goings, rumours and speculations which claimed Luis Suárez's future did not lie on Merseyside, the Uruguayan set things straight yesterday.
"For, me, it has been closed for some time. I made the decision to stay at Liverpool some weeks ago," he assured on landing in Uruguay to link up with his national team.
The striker played the lead role in one of the summer's biggest soap operas, to the point where Reds gaffer Brendan Rodgers even sent him to train separately to prevent any more controversy. However, the start of the season has heralded a new dawn.
The Uruguayan is in the stands week in, week out supporting his teammates and demonstrating his commitment to the club. "Whether I play or not, journalists always end up talking about me. By now they've put me at every team there is," he remarked.
