Palestinian teenagers were treated to a trip around the William Morris Gallery yesterday as part of a two-week visit to the UK promoting human rights.
Nine youngsters were greeted by Mayor Nadeem Ali at the gallery before taking a tour of the exhibitions ahead of flying back to Palestine today.
11 teenagers were expected to make the trip after a group of Waltham Forest residents had built links with families in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, but two girls were unable to join the trip when violence in Egypt shut the border.
The teenagers were visiting the UK with Camden Abu Dis Friendship Association, a charity promoting human rights in the Palestinian town of Abu Dis.
They performed in five concerts across the UK, singing and playing folk music, as part of their trip.
