HEADLINES:

MY THOUGHTS:

The most widespread rain (number of people receiving rain) for the weekend is Friday night and Saturday morning.

The heaviest rain will fall thru Saturday morning near sunrise.

We’ll see a huge range of rain totals. From near or less than 0.5” to more than 2”. Isolated totals could exceed 3”.

After the Saturday morning rain ends, you might not see any more rain for the rest of Saturday. Yet, 20 miles away from you could be pouring!

“Scattered, random downpours” is the description for Saturday afternoon. While the heavy rain coverage (number of people with rain) is low, if you receive storm, you’re getting very wet!

Short range data shows Saturday P.M.’s rain coverage is highest in the mountains, near Roanoke and toward Southside. But I would be ready for rain in the Lynchburg area.

Saturday will remain cloudy/overcast and humid. While many won’t receive heavy afternoon rain, patches of drizzle can develop.

I’ve lowered the rain forecast for Sunday as the Low is moving away. Morning clouds and drizzle are possible. But we’re trying to dry out.

Sunday afternoon rain coverage is low, but a few afternoon downpours will form.
