Petition: Fund circumcisions for Reform, Conservative converts
Progressive Judaism in Israel petitioned the High Court to obligate the Religious Affairs Ministry to justify its refusal to fund circumcision ceremonies for those undergoing Reform and Conservative conversion.
The petition claimed that the existing custom, in which those undergoing Orthodox conversion receive full funding for the circumcision ceremony, is discriminatory. (Aviad Glickman)
