About 65 motorists have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence as part of an 18-day Summer/Labor Day anti-DUI crackdown in San Bernardino County, Ontario police said Thursday.
The arrests were made during the period from 12:01 a.m. Aug. 16 to midnight Wednesday, according to a news release.
In addition, Ontario police arrested four people on outstanding warrants and 13 motorists suspected of driving under a suspended license during a DUI warrant sweep and court sting, the release said.
DUI checkpoints are planned for Friday evening in Upland and Rancho Cucamonga. Barstow police are expected to conduct saturation patrols as they look for people driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the release said.
Saturation patrols are scheduled for Saturday night in Ontario, Yucca Valley, the Victor Valley, Redlands and Twentynine Palms.
A total of 25 law enforcement agencies in San Bernardino County are participating in the Avoid the 25 San Bernardino County DUI Campaign, part of a national DUI crackdown continuing through midnight Sept. 2.
Law enforcement agencies ask the public to call 9-1-1 if they see motorists driving while intoxicated.
