Arbitron: Radio Audiences Still Increasing

According to the latest RADAR report published by Abitron earlier this month, radio now reaches 242.2 million people 12 and over during an average week.

Despite the emergence and accessibility of new digital media technologies like satellite radio and user-controlled internet radio like Pandora that have helped fuel online and mobile audience growth, the Arbitron report shows terrestrial radio’s audience is also still increasing year over year, adding more than 500,000 weekly listeners. Additionally, the report says daily time spent listening to AM/FM radio among US adults held steady (2 hours and 35 minutes a day) versus the September 2012 RADAR report.

The September 2013 report also showed gains in the Hispanic radio audience across all major demographic groups.

NBN has significantly revamped its Spanish-language broadcast offerings, from PSAs and media tours to news releases, b-roll feeds and more.  We now feature an unrivaled suite of bilingual production and distribution services that effectively target and reach the growing Hispanic audiences nationwide.

Want Clicks for Online Video - Go Mobile!

Why place special emphasis on video for mobile phone and tablet devices? Data from the video sharing experts at the highly regarded online video distribution platform Tubemogul provides one reason.  Their recent analysis shows the click-through rate on mobile devices is 4.9% compared to only .9% on desktops and laptops.

And if you want to maximize your visibility for more online viewing, make sure your content is available before the start of the weekend. TubeMogul says 49% of all mobile viewing occurs Thursday through Saturday.
