New logo illustrates our school's commitment to arts education

September 26, 2018

North Park Wilson Logo 2018.jpgA refreshed visual identity for North Park Wilson School perfectly illustrates the school's commitment to arts education.

"When the discussion was brought forward to bring NPW a refreshed and rejuvenated logo, the consensus and interest was unanimous," said Principal Kristin Siba.

"As a specialized art school in our division, it was important that we encouraged an image that represented significant pride in our efforts as an arts school and that anyone would be able to tell what we stand for at NPW. I believe this image, especially in its simplicity, does just that."

The logo includes the school name superimposed over a colourful stroke of paint to signify the important role that arts education plays in both the school and its community.

In its role as a centre of excellence through arts education, students North Park Wilson learn about, through and within the arts and have the opportunity to explore and represent their understandings in all subject areas. The arts provide important ways to teach students the skills and concepts needed to promote lifelong learning.

"One paint stroke is just the beginning of possibility, opportunity, self-expression, creativity, and imagination. The simplicity in this image made us feel that the students and families are the real artists who will paint the future one stroke at a time and it begins at NPW," Siba said.

The new logo has received positive reception from students, parents and staff. It will make its appearance on clothing that can be ordered by the school community during October and will be present at a number of locations within the school as well as on the school's parent portal, website and other methods of communication.
