The revitalization of downtown Salt Lake City will get yet another kick forward this fall when the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Theater opens its doors, welcoming patrons and world-class performances that will include major Broadway touring productions.
Designed by HKS Architects and Cesar Pelli of Pelli Clarke Pelli, the 2,5000-seat Delta Performance Hall features state-of-the-art acoustics and lighting that replicates the starry sky above a Utah canyon. The hall includes a separate, 150-seat black box theater and the Encore Bistro, while a six-story façade towers above Main Street.
The theater’s debut 2016–2017 season will present several Tony-award winning productions including Beautiful, Kinky Boots, Matilda, The Lion King and The Book of Mormon. The performance center joins the new City Creek downtown development of retail and urban living spaces, while other visitor-friendly local advancements include the TRAX light rail system between Salt Lake City International Airport, downtown and area mountain resorts.

The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
