Public Service Commission sets dates for Alagasco hearings

The Alabama Public Service Commission usually meets on the ninth floor of the RSA Union building in Montgomery.

will begin its review of Alabama Gas Corp.'s rates on September 5.

Earlier this year, the PSC began reviewing the rates of each of the state's three major public utilities. Alagasco's review will take place over the course of three dates,

On September 5 in Montgomery, the commission will hear from Alagasco about the company's operations, and an overview of the economics of the natural gas industry.

On September 25, the commission will head to Auburn. During the day, Alagasco will present information about more specific topics, such as pipeline safety and corporate risk. In the evening, the commission will hold a public forum and receive feedback from Alagasco customers.

On October 9, the commission will meet in Montgomery to discuss Alagasco's rate structure and the terms of its Rate Stabilization and Equalization (RSE) agreement.
