Bodyminds in Space: Principles of Trauma-Informed & Anti-oppressive Practice – Part 2

Join the facilitators as they offer discussion, sharing, and writing in a workshop that gives us space to reflect on our current facilitation approaches, our relationship to bodymind “norms”, and accessibility practices for mental health. In this follow-up to “Body-Minds in Space: Part 1”, we will focus on case studies (example situations) and a deeper dive into trauma-informed accessibility. You do not need to have attended “Part 1” to attend “Part 2.” By narrowing the scope and discussing specific real-life situations, “Part 2” aims to provide more practical tools and strategies, along with broader concepts.

How to Talk About Your Work: An Essential Primer for Dance Artists

Join The Dance Centre’s Executive Director, Mirna Zagar, for this 2-day workshop diving into the practicalities of how to talk about dance – specifically YOUR dance. From the initial idea of a work, through creation and presentation, learn how to effectively describe your work for grants, marketing materials, applications and your audience. Gain access to tools, templates, and action plans which you can bring with you into your current and future projects.

Registration deadline: 4pm on April 26. Capacity is very limited and early booking is advised.

Dance Centre Members: Free!
A $15 deposit is required to secure your spot: it will be refunded after you have attended both sessions. Participants can cancel up until 4pm on April 26. After 4pm on April 26, the deposit is non-refundable if participants cancel or miss either session.

Non-members: $30 + GST.
After 4pm on April 26, payment is non-refundable if participants cancel or are absent from either workshop day.
