Fall Gathering September 22
September 22 is the joint gathering of the St. Croix River Association (SCRA) and the Friends of Wild River State Park (WRSP). Plan to attend and find out what each organization is about. You’ll meet some new friends, enjoy a catered lunch and learn about the snake research project at WRSP. After the presentation you can take a logging history hike, or paddle the St. Croix River. It will be an afternoon of fun and learning in a beautiful Minnesota State Park, on the banks of the St. Croix. Learn more and register.
Help Kids Discover That Rivers Are Alive!
Are you passionate about the Namekagon and St. Croix rivers? Interested in sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with local students? Join the National Park Service this fall and become a volunteer for the “Rivers Are Alive” program. Each fall, hundreds of fourth graders visit the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway for “Rivers Are Alive” field trips. Students discover river life by going mucking with a dip net, learn what the creatures they capture reveal about water quality, and discuss what they can do to protect the Riverway.
