Who says you can't have it all anyway? Well, certainly not the people who are building and designing gorgeous islands in the center of bathrooms. Definitely not them. And yes, you read that correctly — islands. In bathrooms. Can you even imagine having a loo so big you don't have to worry about decorating it to make it feel bigger and instead you have extra space to like... dance? I can't, but it's certainly a dream.

In case you do have a massive bathroom, though, and you're questioning what you can do to 1. add some extra storage and 2. create a focal point for the empty space, the bathroom island trend may be your answer.

According to Leah Tuttleman, a certified designer at Re-Bath, those are the two main reasons homeowners ask for bathroom islands. As people gravitate toward homes with bigger bathrooms (please let that be my future, pretty please), Tuttleman predicts we will begin to see this "less as a trend, and more as a common-sense approach to a spacious bathroom design."
