Laura Ingraham: The cages where kids are being held are ‘essentially summer camps’

Laura Ingraham Speaks at CPAC

As I said in a previous post, watch carefully how the Trump administration and the Trump propaganda channel choose to defend their family-separation policy. They’ve put out a series of blonde white women to do their dirtiest work. Kirstjen Nielsen did her Nazi Barbie routine in two separate press conferences yesterday, and she shared a newscycle with Anna Coulter describing traumatized children as “child actors.” Fox News host Laura Ingraham – who lost many of her sponsors after she mocked and lied about Parkland survivor David Hogg – is joining the chorus of Nazi Barbies caping for Trump’s horrific policy. According to Laura Ingraham, babies and children being kept in cages is totally fine because it’s just like summer camp:

“Essentially summer camps” and “basically boarding school.” Again, the children are being kept in cages. When the children and babies wail for their mothers and fathers, the border patrol agents mock them. Literally every mental health professional considers this an enormous mental health crisis for these children and their parents.

    This b*itch.

    • Jan90067(aka imqrious2) says:

She’s certainly letting her inner-Nazi fly!

Hearing about “we’re just taking the kids for a bath…” sent shivers down my spine and made me cry. As I’ve mentioned here before, my 90 yr. old dad is a Holocaust survivor, and to hear this, again, in his lifetime… I just don’t have the words to describe my terror. I am literally having nightmares now.

      • magnoliarose says:

Hugs. I am having a hard time too. I want to scream to people that this is how fascism happens but I am mentally and emotionally tired. My grandparents are survivors and I have some other old timers who are too and I just can’t handle it all sometimes so I can’t relate to you. The cages and bars made me nauseous.

    • Snappyfish says:

You are far kinder than me. If you look up the “C word” you find this horrible chick’s picture.

      • Nicole Savannah, GA says:

Now you know she doesn’t have the depth or warmth. That term is too kind for her.

    • Melanie says:

I’m replying at the top so more of you will see this. Please do not sit still right now. Call your Senators and Congress people nonstop. And I mean all day long. Find a #familiesbelongtogether march near you, scheduled for Saturday June 30th. It’s on Moveon dot org. Donate if you can. Either through ActBlue or direct to the ACLU. Don’t just complain or feel paralyzed. I feel overwhelmed myself but I’m motivated by the terror I hear in the voices of these children.

Tired of hearing “this isn’t who we are”. Yeah, it is. Otherwise we wouldn’t have let it get this far. We are on a very slippery slope right now. The world is watching and I hope they shame the hell out of us. No matter your political stance, no matter your opinion on immigration, THIS IS BARBARIC and we can not just sit by and hope for Congress to fix this. Take to the streets. Throw money at it if you even have $5 to spare. I’m beside myself with rage and pain but I refuse to sit still or be quiet. And yes, the comparisons to Germany are real. Any history book will spell it out for you should you choose to argue that point.

  2. Tate says:

Then go spend the summer there you vile piece of trash.

    • funfactor says:

Yeah, “summer camps” in hell, maybe…. (And the brutal Texas summer is just getting started in my adopted state.)

  3. Tx_mom says:

    Burn in Hell.

    • HK9 says:

I don’t believe in hell anymore, but I’m fully willing to reconstruct it for her and the rest of the triflin people who believe her.

    • Esmom says:

I concur. Just when I think she can’t get any worse, she does. Depressingly, plenty of people seem to agree with her. Even right here in my town (I’m still reeling from a local FB post on the topic).

  4. LaraK says:

What kind of summer camp are these a holes putting their children in???
    Someone call child protective services.

    • Char says:

      It’s the summer concentration camp.

      • Milla says:

Everytime i think it’s some joke cos i don’t know all the names from your government. And every day i get blank stare. Confusion. Disbelief. Anger.

      • ChillyWilly says:

I saw a clip of Jeff Sessions saying this cannot be compared to Nazi concentration camps because Hitler was trying to stop Jews from leaving the country, not entering it. Huh? And nope.

    • Kelly says:

Does she actually fucking think a sane person would believe this? I went to summer camp growing up. I chose to be there. I got to ride horses and eat s’mores and swim and stay up late giggling with my friends. I LOVED it. I listened to the audio of children screaming in terror as they were torn from parents. THIS IS NOTHING REMOTELY LIKE CAMP.

    • Enn says:

I have relatives who say that the children are receiving three meals a day, education, playtime, and essentially living it up in the camps.

Those people are not in my life, but social media is a handy tool when you need to remind yourself why you cut them off.

      • minx says:

Those remarks remind me of what Barbara Bush (former First Lady) said about Katrina victims living in the Astrodome. She said they were poor anyway so it was working out very nicely for them 🤬.

      • Cate says:

        Just, WTF???

I realize this is not the same thing at ALL, but I am a working mother so my toddler son goes to daycare. When we were looking at daycare options, I definitely saw some that provided a “safe” environment, but that I would have no way chosen to leave him in (fortunately, I had that choice, and there were better alternatives available to me). It was just obvious that they were not going to be good places for him. These were all places that were licensed, and from what I have seen, much better run/set up than these camps are. Really, it’s in the long-term best interests of the US for these kids to turn into functional, productive adults, whether they stay in the US or not. Providing food and the bare minimum of shelter is just not enough for kids of that age. They are in such a critical stage of development and the things are happening right now will impact them heavily for LIFE.

  5. littlemissnaughty says:

We see you, Eva Braun. We see you, bitch. And history will as well.

    • QueenB says:

The difference is Eva Braun never publicly defended the camps. Obviously as she wasnt known to be Hitlers companion but still. She is more like Leni Riefenstahl. Without the talent.

      • littlemissnaughty says:

Eva Braun didn’t concern herself with more than her looks and vacations, basically. But we use her name the same way you guys use “Nazi Barbie”. It’s not a direct comparison. Riefenstahl never defended the camps either. She claimed naivete until she died.

      • Me46 says:

Melania is the equivalent of Eva Braun.

    • magnoliarose says:

Yes, we do. Eva Braun means Hitler’s bitch basically so yeah this POS is Eva Braun. 45’s bitch.

    • Cate says:

I feel like a better comparison might be Unity Mitford?

  6. lightpurple says:

We need to challenge these monsters every time they compare these poor people, their victims, to convicted US criminals.

People in our prisons have been tried and convicted for committing crimes. The people at our border aren’t criminals.
People in our prisons get to know where their children are, who is caring for them, they get visitation privileges and they can call them. If this is not allowed, they sue citing the 8th Amendment. The people at our border, who have committed no crimes, don’t know where their children are, who has them; they don’t get visitations or phone calls.
The children of people in our prisons live with another parent or family member or are placed in a foster care situation that has supposedly been vetted & is regulated. They get to go to school. They have clothes and rooms and real blankets. They know where their parents are. They get to see them and call them. The children at our border? They sleep on cots. They’re not in school. They don’t know where their parents are. They can’t visit or call their parents.

    This is inhumane.

  7. French Girl says:

I hope her a painful and incurable cancer .😤

    • AideVee says:

My beloved uncle just suffered this and I would not wish it on anyone.

However- Trumpters who are bleating about how no-one is above the law ought to be reminded of Hitler; he passed lots of laws in order to legally commit one of the biggest genocides this planet has ever seen.

Using the rule of law to justify this is not acceptable.

      • Kitten says:

I’m so sorry about your uncle. It’s really hard not to wish the most horrific and atrocious horrors to befall these people. I’m sure OP didn’t mean to be callous, but if I’m being honest, I’ve wished for the same if not worse for these monsters.

      • Heather says:

I’m not a supporter of Emperor Babyfists Fanta but he didn’t pass any of these laws. His administration has chosen to enforce laws already on the books. Where it needs to change is Congress. We need to flip the house and Senate in November and rectify/adjust/erase these laws.

    • Nancy says:

I never wish death or disease on anyone. When I was a kid, my dad said be careful who you dig holes for, you just may fall in yourself. @AideVee, I too offer my condolences to you. Having recently, unexpectantly losing my brother, I know that feeling of gut wrenching despair. Prayers up……..

      • Darla says:

Well, I read a quote once, I forget the exact words, but it was something along the lines of…I’ve never wished death on anyone but I’ve read a few obituaries with a great deal of pleasure.

      • Nancy says:

Ha! Love that quote and will remember it. A wise man, thanks for sharing it.

      • magnoliarose says:

        Haha Darla. That was good.

  8. LizB says:

PLEASE CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS AND TELL THEM THIS IS NOT OK

    • Reef says:

Both of my Senators, Senator Isaakson especially, basically told me, politely “lol”. The people in power feel they’re protecting the white race and that precedes decency. I genuinely don’t know what to do.

      • Sadezilla says:

Holy forking shirtballs, I would lose my shi(r)t if my Senator’s office said that to me. I hope that information becomes very public! Everlasting shame on Isaakson.

      • Kitten says:

        JFC…we are so screwed.

I wonder what it feels like for them to know that their grandchildren, great grandchildren and onwards will be reading about them in the history books as the most cowardly, evil, and spineless incarnation of a political party the USA has ever seen? They will go down in history as the people who could have stopped this disaster, but refused to. Man, I hate them so f-cking much.

      • hogtowngooner says:

Post that exchange (as much as you can remember, anyway) to all of their social media posts. If they have an opponent in November, tell them about it. Keep calling this person every time a new story comes out on this, and ask if they’d like to reconsider their position. Record it if you can.

      • holly hobby says:

You should call them again and play that audio of the screaming children. Let’s see them laugh over that.

  9. Patricia says:

Celebitches… I’ve come to this site for many years and I feel often that it’s my “sane place” when it comes to politics.
This is the worst thing that has happened under this administration and I don’t know what to do or where to turn or how to just get through the day right now. My heart is ripped out. I’m laying in bed holding my three year old this morning and my heart is crushed as I think of what it would be like if he was taken away. I have a baby daughter also. My baby daughter looks very much like the little girl in the photo looking up and crying in fear that is being circulated right now, on the news and Facebook. THIS IS OUT COUNTRY doing this.

Help. What do we do?! I always donate to the ACLU but now have also donated to a group for legal representation for the separated families. I have shared that on Facebook so others can donate. I have called my representatives with my voice shaking and cracking, demanding they take a stand. I will attend a protest here in my state on Friday morning. But what else can we do? This is the ultimate test of our humanity. Every single moment those children are crying for their parents, every single moment mothers and fathers of BABIES are living a hell I can’t even imagine.
I’m sorry if I sound hysterical, but I kind of AM hysterical. What can we do?!
I wish I could literally go hold those children and comfort them. Do you know they aren’t even being held and comforted? Do you know that siblings are being told not to HUG EACH OTHER?! What do we do?

    • Babs says:

That’s more or less me right now. I’m not even american but I know my government also does pretty f*cked up sh*t to migrants and refugees, adults and kids. I’m devastated. I don’t know what to do. We cannot let this fly.

    • noway says:

My 16 year old daughter was so distraught she was calling her congressmen. Which is what a lot of organizations are telling us to do. Flood the emails and phone lines of Congress. She prefaced it with I know you don’t believe in this, as all of our congressmen are pretty liberal Democrats and not Trumpers, but she asked them to do something.

Americans have such a short attention span, we need to keep this in the news for one thing, until it is changed. Trump has definitely benefited from his unique ability to change the subject quickly.

I have a few serious questions about this policy. One where are the girls? The photos from DHS are of boys only, and they look bad enough. Where are the girl? It scares me a lot. Second other than to get funding for the wall or another political purpose what do they expect to get out of this policy. I only see pissed off immigrants who may hate us tremendously in 15 years. Remember 9/11, a lot of those young men hated us for something far less than this. Plus we apparently are losing some of these kids info. How do we plan to get them out of the country without a relative. We are just going to flood an already overbooked foster system at some point and end up paying for these kids. Aside from being cruel and inhumane, which I guess some as Laura Ingraham don’t think so cause their youth summer camp was spent in a cages (fyi best tweet ever) , this is just an idiotic policy. I know Trump doesn’t have any long term thinking, but come on someone has to have it.

    • Lenn says:

I am Dutch and even over here we are sad and outraged. My friends and I talk about it constantly and are all not sleeping well and worried about these kids. This speaks to mothers, fathers, humans worldwide.

    • Darla says:

Patricia, I’m so sorry. I see you and understand how you are feeling. It sounds to me like you are doing everything you can do right now. You are doing a lot. If everyone was doing what you are doing we probably wouldn’t be where we are. Thank you

    • Giddy says:

Never forget that it is Donald Trump who brought this piece of screaming hell to our country. Never forget that he has blamed this on Democrats when it is his directives that caused this human devastation. Any official who supported this, turned a blind eye, or who was not actively against this horror should never have an elected office again. Where are the mothers in the Republican Party who will finally admit that they are supporting a madman? Where are the protective fathers in the Republican Party who will say no more? Where is their humanity?

Congress should be telling Trump that this is unacceptable. Then they should begin impeachment proceedings on the craven, lying, racist piece of shit who occupies the White House.

    • HeyThere! says:

This is me with my two babies at home. My heart is in pain and I’m angry! I have been crying off and on and I just feel helpless. I want to drop my kids to my moms and go volunteer to love, hold and feed babies and toddlers until they can be reunited. Seriously, who is loving the babies??!? I am sick right now.

      • Giddy says:

I’m in Texas and I tried to inquire if there was a way to volunteer to rock babies, and hold and comfort children, because I would happily travel to any of the border towns. I was told that the only people allowed inside were the workers and sometimes a few members of the press or congress. I feel ill thinking of all the little ones who are so scared. I just saw video of a large group of women protesting in McAllen. I know that if allowed those women would gladly go help those children.

      • HeyThere! says:

I’m in the middle of the Midwest but I heard they are being shipped all across America! I want to comfort and rock babies. Who is feeding them, rocking, cleaning them?! Who is making sure they get naps and clean clothes?! What if any have medical conditions or reflux?! I WANT ANSWERS NOW!

      • Trashaddict says:

I love the sentiment, but I don’t want to rock them. I WANT TO GET THEM BACK TO THEIR FAMILIES.

    • AnnaKist says:

I just cannot read any more about this. I’m sickened, my eyes are red from crying and my heart hurts for your country, and much, much more for these children. I cannot believe this is happening again, and those who know better and can stop it today, are allowing it to go on. Drump will not come out of this unscathed.

    • holly hobby says:

Well apparently some attorney representing one of those moms sued the federal govt for unlawful detainment and due process. Twitter says you don’t have to be a citizen to sue the govt. I hope every last one of them sues. This is unconstitutional.

    • magnoliarose says:

What we can do is get involved on a local level and be heroes in any way we can but practice some self care because this whole nightmare is draining and hurtful. We have to get out of our habits and comfort zones and do something for someone who needs help.
Call your congressmen but this will also mean protesting loudly and not stopping.

    • Lindy says:

I could barely let my nine year old son go to camp this morning because I can’t stand having my kids further than five feet away from me this week. I’m snuggling my 2-month-old constantly. I’ve done all the usual things: donate to RAICES, donate to KIND, donate to Beto’s campaign (again), call my senators (Cornyn and Cruz, two of the biggest scumbuckets around) and my rep (another hideous human being)… I can’t stop crying at random moments thinking about this. I feel like I need to do more. But what?

My father in law (a feisty old southern white dude), back in the mid 60s, dropped out of his philosophy PhD program to go to law school so he could become a civil rights attorney. He fought the good fight in Louisiana and Mississippi for decades at the height of the desegregation backlash and at 70 he’s using his retirement time to work on Black Lives Matter fundraising and anti-racism education. I feel like he *did* something. I feel like I should do more…

  10. Pineapple says:

As a parent I was thinking, “Where do we go to protest this? What do we do?” I am from Canada and found myself thinking, “Justin, Justin, can you fix this??” (Annnnnnd, Justin CAN’T fix this, cuz the guy hates him.) I don’t understand how your Dictator is still in power. I just don’t understand. (As do none of you I am sure.) This whole situation is a nightmare.

    • Nancy says:

Please please don’t refer to this person as “your dictator.” Aside from the monsters and those whose intent is to destroy us, he is not ours. He doesn’t represent any citizen of our country who has a heart and soul. He is evil.

      • Sadezilla says:

I agree that he is evil, but it’s disturbing how many people in this country agree with him or are willing to overlook his appalling cruelty and dictatorial policies in favor of tax cuts for the wealthy. Unfortunately, unless Americans soundly reject this agenda in 2018, 2020 and thereafter, he is our monster. That’s not to say everyone in this country supports him, but that we need to root out the evil and make it unacceptable.

      • Kitten says:

I hear you so much, Nancy. I go back and forth where somedays I’m just like “You know, f-ck us. We deserve this.” But then I’m on Twitter and seeing SO many Americans who agree with me and it pisses me off when people from other countries say that Americans don’t care or that we are allowing this to happen. This is not the fault of the majority, who voted for HRC. This is the fault of a small, vocal minority who now have the perfect Dear Leader, using the WH as a bully pulpit. They are getting their voices amplified every day (see a post about Ingraham and the other long-faced blonde lady) when they deserve to be ignored.

And I get that everyone has an opinion about the US right now but please observe a bit of caution when making sweeping generalizations about the US. Most of us despise what is happening right now and many of us are mobilizing on a grassroots level to try to affect change. It’s not going to happen overnight and it will get worse before it gets better, but we ARE trying.

ETA: not directed at Pineapple, just a general reply to some of the comments that we always see on the Trump threads.

      • Nancy says:

Right Kitten. It’s like calling all Germans Nazis during that period of history. I literally have no one in my family or group of friends who support this man. Who are they? They must crawl out of the woodwork during the day. But this is how people like trump work, prey on the weak. We so have to watch this person. It’s hard to read negative comments from those outside of the States, it’s like our private hell. But the US has always been there for everyone in disasters, don’t diss us because he is a prick. Ok, gotta go. Pineapple, this absolutely isn’t directed at you…..I am rambling on.

      • QueenB says:

This is no time to #notallamericans.

It is your president and you’ll have to live with being called out for that. Thats also part of your immense presence all over the world and the media domination. If you have so much influence you need to be responsible. Its not like the same media doesnt make generalizations about other countries, right? You are in the privileged position. Other nations are learning english because of your powerful position in the world, everyone at first is assumed to be american on the biggest sites on theinternet, imagine that. You are seen as the default.
Generalizing dominant classes doesn’t come at a cost of their livelihood, safety, or agency. No foreign power will invade you because someone says something about americans.

You all need to get over your defensiveness.

      • Nancy says:

I spell trump with a lowercase t, but America, always uppercase.

      • Kitten says:

LMAO that was a LOT of extrapolating over a couple of fairly innocuous comments. I don’t think anyone was minimizing the US’s influence on the world (although surely that will change) but rather, expressing frustration that we can’t do more to change our current circumstances.

It didn’t really warrant a rant about American exceptionalism but… carry on I guess. *shrugs*

      • Nancy says:

LOL. Well said Ms. Kitten! If only we lived the life of luxury that I think some think we do. In comparison to the impoverished, we are fortunate, yes. But if they saw the homeless, hungry and hopeless, they would know it is world wide epidemic.

      • QueenB says:

Again its derailing with notallamericans. It sounds like men who say “its not the majority of men who act like that, not all of us are priviliged, so many men are homeless and hungry. If only we lived the life of luxury that I think some feminists think we do”

    • BearcatLawyer says:

We may need a coalition of the willing to invade and save us.

    • Valerie says:

I live in Canada too and I’m sick to my stomach over this. I don’t know what to do. Trump and those around him who allowed this to happen can rot.

  11. PlayItAgain says:

I bet if this entitled twat spent 20 minutes inside one of those cages without her cell phone, surrounded by wailing children, she’d change her tune.

  12. Indiana Joanna says:

Add Grifter Barbie Ivanka, another stringy haired babyfist blonde, who has cruelly mocked the terrible circumstances of these young children and parents by tweeting soft focus photos of herself and her pet fake policy about paid child care.

    • Elkie says:

The heart-breaking report on the factories manufacturing Ivanka’s fashion range roundly condemned them for working their garment workers so long and so hard, for so little pay in unsafe conditions (beyond what you would expect in even a sportswear sweat shop) that they cannot afford to live with their children and instead are sent away to their grandparents.

She probably gave the family break-up idea to Daddy…

  13. Eric says:

Underneath this deplorable policy of separating kids from mothers is where the focus should be.

Didja hear about Wilbur Ross? Probably not.

Will there be a signed letter-of-intent for a Trump Tower NoKo? Who knows.

Is a secret EZ-Putin meeting planned? Maybe.

Is Rosenstein and/or Mueller about to be fired? Perhaps.

Keep your senses sharpened about what’s happening just beneath the surface. Emperor Zero and his Klan have turned the narrative (yet again) and the MSM is falling for it.

    Beware

    • Sadezilla says:

Eric, the Wilbur Ross thing should not be allowed to fly under the radar, but I’m afraid it will. And even IF there were no actual collusion between EZ-D’s campaign and Russia (which I find hard to believe given the heaps of shady communications between the two), why is no one in the Republican party concerned that EZ-D is basically taking orders from EZ-Putin (thanks for the name, I’m obviously stealing it) and China? I also find it interesting that China is a socialist regime, and Russia is a former Communist non-democracy. What does that say about the direction EZ is pushing us in? Whatever would Saint Reagan say??? /s

    • Kitten says:

I know. It’s so freaking hard to focus on every sh*tty/crazy thing that’s happening on a daily basis. The new immigration is just so…alarming and heart-breaking that we are forgetting about Russia. It’s so exhausting.

If I’m being honest, reading your comment made my heart sink, Eric because I’m so used to your positivity.

Sigh. Everything sucks so hard right now.

    • Betsy says:

Yeah, as broken up as this is making me, it’s just another GOP distraction. Isn’t that trashy? Traumatizing children for sport.

      Stay engaged.

    • magnoliarose says:

The MSM is useless. They report when 45 burps from his 15 burger afternoon snack but not the real cruelty and judge stacking that is happening. We should be alarmed about what is happening underneath the outlandish headlines but since no one reports it how can we be?

They dropped the ball before the election and continue to be spineless bubble dwellers. I pay no attention to any of them anymore.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Thank you for the heads up about Wilbur Ross.

  14. Nancy says:

Heartless swine. The only one worse, or at least more self-involved, if possible, is Ann Effen Coulter. She was on Fox (according to the one of their idiot talking heads) the only station we should listen to for the truth. Let me spit out my coffee. Coulter said almost as if quoting from the Bible, that these children were child actors. May both of these bitches rot in hell. Someone help these babies, my God.

  15. QueenB says:

I fail to see the difference between white women and white men anymore.

    • noway says:

And why are all the white conservative women on tv blonde and look the same? Honestly, Coulter, Ingraham, Tomi Lahren, any Fox news woman, they all look the same, and spew the same crap. It’s like Stepford wives. First by the time you are an adult there aren’t that many true blondes, so they are all dyeing their hair to look like that. As tv is a looks media is this the preferred look for conservative men? Maybe a little Aryan nation thing going on here. Uh Oh! Melania go run for the hills!!!!

      • Nancy says:

Kellyanne Conway was pictured side-by-side with Ann Coulter. Twins. The evil oozes from their pores. Conversely, though QueenB, I know what you’re saying, but not all white people are like these right wingers. If they were, we really would be doomed. Evil comes in all colors, shapes and sizes, as does good, which will prevail.

      • Snowflake says:

That’s the idealized white woman’s standard of beauty. I’m white, I get so tired of seeing women trying to fit this so called ideal. I have a couple of coworkers from Turkey. With naturally thick curly brown hair and brown eyes. They kill their hair straightening and dying it. Every time I turn around, their hair is lighter. And they bought colored contacts. To make their eyes blue. It’s sad. And men buy into it too. I’ve seen many men flock to the blonde, tan, white women. It’s what we’ve been brainwashed to think is the standard of beauty. I’m tired of my medium brown hair, kinda want to go lighter for summer, But I don’t want to give into that lighter is better b.s. So I’m trying to figure out something different to do with my hair.

I’m with you on the dye thing. I’m older and have a bit of gray which is easier to cover up if you are lighter, you don’t get as much of the the skunk look when you are late dyeing and it’s summer. I don’t want the blond now though. I know it is our standard, but seriously all of these crazy conservative white blond commentators I don’t want to be associated. Aside from all the horrible things going on in the US I have this stupid thing to worry about too.

Seriously, I’m getting drama fatigue. Can we just have a few months where we don’t cozy up to dictators, put kids in dog crates, mess with trade and just generally don’t screw someone over. I’d like to worry about something mundane like my hair. I’m just exhausted. Trump is very tiring among all the other terrible things he is.

    • Anika says:

Queen B: And I fail to see *any* helpfulness to your sweeping generalizations. “All Americans” are responsible for the cruelty of Trump–despite ALL the evidence to the contrary? ALL whites (white men/women are one) are essentially racist Nazis? I think it must be hard to be as narrow minded and short sighted as you are. To apparently *always* look for, and to encourage, division, rather than any potential for unity. There is anger, and then there is blind fury, and I see only the latter in you. So much resentment stunts human life, and growth. I feel genuinely sorry for you.

  16. RBC says:

Has it been stated on the whereabouts of all the female children? Every news report only shows male children. Why all the secrecy ?

    • Louisa says:

They don’t want us to see the girls and toddlers as that image doesn’t fit in with their narrative that all immigrants are current or future MS-13 members. At least that’s what I think. They’ll jut allow images of the older boys for now.

    • ORIGINAL T.C. says:

The press and US Congressmen are not being allowed to see girls of any age nor the younger boys. How much you want to bet that those baby boys and girls look a terrible mess and they don’t want pictures of them on the news????

      • noway says:

Supposedly, they aren’t allowed to legally separate a child younger than 4 from their mother. However, like the little toddler girl picture that was taken not by DHS, I think they are. In true Trumpian fashion, if that claim doesn’t work, they are conversely claiming some of the kids don’t have parents. Which may be true, but pretty sure a toddler wouldn’t come to the USA without at least some adult. I’m sure crazy Trumpsters think they do, an Army of toddlers from Mexico invading our country to take our jobs. Jobs we don’t want. I live in Maryland, and we can’t get workers for crab season, summer visa’s weren’t approved. Watch out Trumpsters, you don’t mess with a Marylander and their crabs!!!!

The boy pictures are taken as it is propaganda, as the boys are older and may look like MS13 recruits. Still I’m worried about the girls, as since some are claiming cages are like summer camp, and pictures and audio of crying toddlers are all out there, I don’t trust them to do the right thing or even to be competent to not do something stupid unintentionally .

  17. TheOriginalMia says:

Someone suggested on Twitter head kids would be shipped off to work as migrant workers. I believe it. I’ll do one step further and darker and suggest a slave trade (either household or sexual). These are depraved, amoral people who feel empowered by a cowardly GOP who won’t check their President. November will be here soon enough. The blue wave is gonna swamp them.

    • Imara219 says:

Totally agree with you. These slavers work in full knowledge of government officials, in my opinion. How do you lose immigrant kids, why can’t anyone see these kids without needing clearance, why the point of separating them anyway, even homeless shelters keep mothers with their children while fathers sleep in a separate shelter?

      • magnoliarose says:

Bottle blonde Nazi barbies and I spy some roots too. I too don’t want any association with these dolts.

    • Really? says:

Samantha Bee was right to call the Nazi-in-chief’s daughter a c*nt. Bee may as well have called the rest of these cheerleaders the same. To think you are far superior to another human being that you can take his/her children away without cause is reprehensible. I hope (but I doubt) that all of these bimbos in office, including their grand leader, get convicted of crimes against humanity.

  20. Nev says:

    She should be fired. Immeadiatey.

  21. seraph7 says:

I still remember this horrible individual on TV proudly doing a Nazi salute so I am not surprised. Her and that witch Coulter are utter trash.
These people need to be pariahs. No do-overs when justice comes. No inviting them to come to UK. I am truly sorry for the decent people of the United States who did not ask for this, but there has to be consequences for this disgusting policy and if that mean UN involvement or some sanctions (ideally targeted at 45 and his empire himself) then so be it.

    • Betsy says:

I think we need international intervention. Honestly, it’s clear that our government has been taken over. Democrats earn more votes and get less representation.

  22. BearcatLawyer says:

One big issue that has been lightly reported but is quite significant: this “administration” has no formal plan or procedures for reuniting these children with their families once they finish their criminal sentences and are released from detention (many will be freed pending trial in immigration court – there simply are not enough beds). Families typically apply for asylum as a unit; there are no policies to ensure they will be allowed to do so now that they are being forcibly separated. What this means is that if a parent wins her asylum case in court but a separated child who had to file his own application without the input/aid of his mother (who likely knows way more about the asylum claim than the child) loses in court, the child could be deported. While he might eventually qualify for an asylee visa, there are no guarantees. Oh and keep in mind there is NO right to paid counsel in immigration court. Not even for children.

Cheeto Mussolini and Neonazi Jeff Sessions are hell bent on destroying the asylum process and violating every last one of our international obligations to protect innocent people. Mark my words – this is just the beginning.

    • Louisa says:

“Cheeto Mussolini and Neonazi Jeff Sessions are hell bent on destroying the asylum process and violating every last one of our international obligations to protect innocent people. Mark my words – this is just the beginning”

And now we know why Sessions stuck around while Trump was humiliating him. For this. This has been his sick twisted dream for decades and finally he’s able to implement it.

    • Kitten says:

Man that is so depressing. I can’t imagine what all of this means for your job, Bearcat. I follow Rabia O’Chaudry on Twitter and although she doesn’t deal with border cases, she has been really helpful in terms of understanding what is happening from an immigration lawyer’s standpoint.

      Hang in there, friend.

      • BearcatLawyer says:

Unfortunately I am suffering from an attack of shingles right now so I am barred from doing much hands-on work for a few weeks. My doctor is also worried that the added stress of this crisis will just cause them to return again and again before I can get the new shingles shot. But oh well – I will figure out something.

The really sad thing is that the majority of so-called immigration lawyers do not do court work and know next to nothing about asylum law. They are just as outraged as everyone else but not quite outraged enough to so much than post on social media. As usual we litigators have to shoulder yet another burden foisted on us by Emperor Baby Fists with little support from our fellow immigration lawyers.

      • Giddy says:

@Bearcat, I had a horrible attack of shingles two years ago. No one who hasn’t had it can understand how painful it is. I wish you a light case and a speedy recovery.

      • Kitten says:

Oh no Bearcat, that sucks. I had shingles many years ago and it was HORRIBLE. Incredibly painful.

I hope you feel better soon but don’t forget the importance of self-care during these trying times.

So, when Princess Nagini is arrested for treason, Laura will support sending the Kushner children to one of these camps, right?

    • Nancy says:

Hearing the word camp puts the Internment Camps which no one thought could possibly exist in the States right back on the front page. This is such an atrocity, it’s hard to believe that he isn’t being stopped. These kids never had a chance. Running and with their parents, hiding and now being held hostage for reasons they can’t fathom. It’s unholy.

  27. SERIOUSLY says:

Why doesn’t Laura send her 3 children to one of those facilities since they’re basically boarding school?

    • Kelly says:

My initial reaction to her comment when I read it last night was horror and disgust. My second reaction was “If these are like summer camps, then why doesn’t she, Coulter, Conway, and other GOP/Fox News women send their kids and grandkids to these types of summer camps”. Based upon a brief look at twitter, I wasn’t the only one with that reaction.

    • BearcatLawyer says:

I went to boarding school. It was nothing like this. Laura needs to STFU.

  28. Fighter says:

Shut the f**k up Trump, scum of the earth. You have neither heart nor brain, how are you even still alive? God will judge you and your army of zombies.
Americans, you have the power to get rid of this POS – use it for the sake of your nation!

Summer camps? Does she have kids? Tell her to send her kids to those “summer camps”! Stupid Bitch!

    • Neelyo says:

She adopted minority children. i shudder to think what they are learning from her.

  31. Valerie says:

I’m just gonna fucking go back to bed.

  32. Tania says:

I’ve been trying to stay away from the news because this is just so devastating. BUT, it’s not the first time it’s happened on American soil. This happened in the 40’s and 50’s and 60’s to other brown babies. This happened to my Mom and my Dad. I lived a very real experience of this type of trauma manifesting into illness.

This happened in Canada and it happened in the US. My parents were sent to, “residential school”. My Dad was beaten because he didn’t speak English. My Mom saw girls taken away and abused. Many ran away to try go home – which was 1,000 miles away – and died.

And I see it happening again. These children will grow up not trusting the people you’re supposed to trust. They won’t trust doctors, social workers, teachers, politicians.

This is exactly what lead to my Dad going untested for cancer until we forced him to see a doctor when he was late stage 3 and he died too soon.

This is why when I’m in public these days I have very little patience for white women. I have so much anger and so much disgust for this country and what it’s doing to Indigenous Peoples. This was THEIR LAND before you installed the borders with your white supremacy.

Ugh. Time to go back to playing games and staying offline.

    • Valerie says:

We are only now just learning how deep a wound the residential schools inflicted upon people. It’s horrifying, and even more so to know that they operated within my lifetime. The last one closed in 1996. Fucking ’96!

    • BearcatLawyer says:

I am so sorry for what your parents suffered. Yet here we are…history repeating itself.

I too am limiting my time online. While I am lucky that many of my friends are as outraged as I am, reading posts about this nightmare over and over again is traumatizing.

    • Veronica S. says:

Anyone who has done an extensive study of “American” history knows there’s not a whole lot to be proud of in actuality.

  33. La says:

While I have been appalled at many things this administration has done I have never actually contacted my congresspeople. This was what finally made me do it. The little girl in the viral photo looks resembles my toddler and I broke down in tears.

I used Resistbot on Twitter and it was so easy! They will be hearing from me again. Especially because my House rep is an absolute weasel who deserves to get read the riot act on the daily.

  34. Escaped Convent says:

Does anyone remember the scene in Sophie’s Choice in which the Nazi guard at their “summer camp” wrenched Sophie’s child from her arms, to take her to the ovens?

We are just a few degrees from that. Trump is a hopelessly depraved sick twist. He and his circle of evil men need to be put in cages themselves while all honorable, decent people sort this out. This is the most shocking humanitarian crisis since the Nazi camps. It’s time for the U.N. to get involved now. We cannot wait one more day.

  35. Annie says:

She stumbled when saying “summer camps” because even she knows how horrific this is. These people are all going straight to hell. I’m out of words to express my outrage. Nothing will suffice. I’m scared and devastated that this is becoming our new normal. I’ve contacted the White House and my state politicians and will do so again. TY for the advice to contact my state governor. He’s next on my list.

  36. minx says:

Ingraham is a terrible, horrible person.

  37. Veronica S. says:

It only just sickens me to be a white woman anymore. We’re just doing the devil’s work for him these days.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I know. I look at these other women and wonder how in the world I can share anything in common with them (race, gender). I also think of what I could possibly say to make them realize the brutality of their positions. How can I reach them? I just don’t know and it depresses me.

  38. The Original G says:

As bad as this all is, and it is so, so completely bad, I am totally undone by the many who are proud of this and feel no shame?

Who knew this is what so many people are really like?

  39. keroppi says:

I’ve been following this story from Canada with disbelief and horror. I cannot believe it. I think we as Canadians should do our part and contact our MPs to stop the Safe Third Country Agreement which sends asylum seekers back to the US. I know that the government is keeping an eye on what is going on down south but I think they need to act against the human rights abuses that are taking place.

  40. Payal says:

    Unbelievable.

  41. Cee says:

Unbelievable. I guess concentration camps were summer camps too, eh?
These people will not stop until they turn their country into the United States of Nazi.
    I am getting second-hand embarrassment.

EDIT: I don’t like riots, but decent americans need to descend to DC AND RIOT!!!!

  42. WendyNerd says:

I can’t take this. I want these people PUT IN CAGES like the children they so despise. I want them put in cages, in public, made to crap on newspapers and eat dog food for everyone to see. For years. Forever. I want them to live lives of degradation and humiliation. Seen as nothing but monsters. Because that is all they deserve.

  43. hogtowngooner says:

I hate this smug b*tch so very much. When and however this ends, I hope this video follows her around and shames her until her dying day. She should never, ever be allowed to run away from her complicity in all this.

  44. Originaluna says:

You know… people wonder why someone blows themselves up in another country. These children could come back in 20 years go get revenge and no one will remember why.
    This is why.
It’s horrible and terrifying. But it is very likely to happen.

  45. Anastasia says:

I bet her kids don’t go to “summer camps” where they stay inside tents or old Walmarts for 22 hours a day.

    THIS FESTERING BITCH FROM HELL.

  46. Shannon says:

What summer camp did she go to? I went to summer camp; we got to ride horses, get letters and phone calls from our parents, and swim in a lake and sh!t. There was no chain link involved.
