Goldsboro police searching for attempted murder suspect
Goldsboro police are searching for a man wanted on a charge of attempted murder after he allegedly attacked another man with a claw hammer.
Posted — UpdatedOfficers said they were called to the 900 block of N. John Street about 2 p.m. Saturday and found the victim, 36-year-old Leodis Hamlin Jr., unconscious with a head wound.
Officers determined Hamlin had been arguing with Jerry Aundrey Parks, 39, of the 900 block of N. John Street, when the argument turned physical. Police said Parks left when the fight broke up, then returned a few minutes later with the hammer and struck Hamlin once in the face and once in the forehead.
Witnesses told police that Parks stomped Hamlin in the head several times after he fell.
Hamlin was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
