What $300K buys around Atlanta right now

For this installment of Curbed Comparisons, we take a look at what $300,000—give or take $5,000—buys around Atlanta these days.

At this price point, home scouts will find a large selection of properties in many of the city’s most desired neighborhoods, with sizes ranging from super small (the smallest in this group logs just 745 square feet) to quite spacious (think 2,800 square feet). Whether an individual, couple, or a family, you’re likely to find a good fit, if you’re flexible. Let’s take a closer look.

PalmerHouse Properties

Within walking distance of the Beltline in Oakland City, this renovated bungalow features three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,300 square feet. The 1930 home now showcases many modern updates, including, as the listing states, “farmhouse doors.” From the listing photos, it appears that barn door is on the master bathroom. Although just listed with PalmerHouse Properties, it appears the home was completed last year and first landed on the market in March for $310,000. However, after a bumpy road, it now sits at $300,000.

Located on the 27^th floor of the Spire in Midtown, this 2005 condo has one bedroom (sort of) and one bathroom in 745 square feet. The unit includes some updates such as fresh paint and newer carpet in the bedroom. For monthly HOA fees of $350, potential homeowners can enjoy such building amenities as a swimming pool, club room, fitness center, grilling area, and 24-hour concierge. The RE/MAX Legends listing is asking $295,000.

Best Properties Management

Close to the future Westside Park at Bellwood Quarry in West Highlands, this 2006 two-story home has been renovated from top to bottom. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,800 square feet, it offers plenty of entertaining space inside and out. Not only is there a double front porch, but a large deck was added to the back for more outdoor enjoyment. Listed with Best Properties Management, the asking price is $299,900.

Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International

At the Cosmopolitan in Buckhead, this 1,111-square-foot condo includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The 2006 unit capitalizes on its abundance of natural light to make it look more spacious than it is. A balcony off the living area provides a spot of outdoor space for relaxing. Building amenities range from a saltwater swimming pool and fitness center to a billiard lounge, clubroom, and 24-hour concierge, plus two assigned parking spaces and a storage unit. In addition to monthly HOA fees of $430, the current asking price of the Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International listing is $300,000.

The Realty Group

Found on Welch Street in Adair Park, this 1950 bungalow received a renovation that now showcases an open floorplan along with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,313 square feet. Of special note, the listing points out there is an extra room at the front of the house that could be used as “coat storage, small prayer room, cat house, office, or she space.” Listed with The Realty Group, the current asking price is $297,000.
