SACRAMENTO–
Dozens of faces from all colors of the spectrum took part in a nationwide movement to support immigration reform.
“It’s really an opportunity for people to literally put their face to an issue. We always say we’re not policy makers. It is art and it is about starting conversations,” said Sarah Anthony, Inside Out Project facilitator.
And among the many faces posted on a building in Downtown Sacramento was Mayor Kevin Johnson
“When you think about immigration reform, we are all connected to some immigrant at some point who has come to this country and made our country better,” said Johnson.
Johnson’s future political ambitions are still up for debate, but the Mayor took Wednesday as an opportunity to stand with President Obama who supports the senates immigration plan.
While Mayor Johnson did not speak on specifics he agreed change is needed.
“I agree whole-heartedly with the President of the United States. Democrats and Republicans all over the country, good people coming together to pass comprehensive immigration reform, it needs to happen,” said Johnson.
The photos are located L and 9th Streets.
