New Nexus 7 Goes Official w/ Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

The 2nd-Generation Nexus 7 is now officially out. As previously rumored, it will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. And yes, ASUS will still be the manufacturer of the said device. The new Nexus 7 will come with the black shell and same 7-inch display of its predecessor, but the new tablet is slightly bigger and thinner than its predecessor. There are also a lot of incremental upgrades to the tablet. There’s now a 5-MP camera at the back of the tablet that’s paired up with a 1.2-MP front-facing shooter. As for the display resolution, it has been bumped up to 1,920 × 1,200 with a pixel density of 323 ppi.

On the inside, the new Nexus 7 is running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB RAM and Adreno 320 graphics. The tablet also packs 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.0. The tablet also now comes with wireless charging, making it the next device from Google support such a feature after the Nexus 4. However, only the 32GB version will come with such privilege. Still, no microSD card slot for both variants. And yes, it is the first tablet to run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The refreshed Nexus 7 still comes with a microUSB for charging, but there’s also SlimPort support for outputting video at 1080p Full HD quality. You can now pre-order the said tablet but you won't get it until July 30, 2013. Prices start at $229 for the 16GB version and the 32GB version will cost $269.
