The world's most popular perfume revealed: Carolina Herrerra's Good Girl is the most in demand across the globe while Britons favour Marc Jacobs Daisy (so, is YOUR favourite on the list?)

A good perfume is a staple in any woman's life and whilst different people may prefer varying scents, it seems one fragrance has come out on top. 

Research from online beauty retailer Lookfantastic analysed Google searches across the globe to reveal the most popular women's and men's perfumes worldwide.  

Caroline Herrera's Good Girl placed first for women, closely followed by Black Orchid by Tom Ford and Daisy by Marc Jacobs, while the top spot for men's fragrances went to 1 Million by Paco Rabanne. 

Good Girl was the number one most-searched for women’s fragrance in 42 countries - including Paraguay, Brazil, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and Vietnam.

This was closely followed by Black Orchid by Tom Ford and Daisy by Marc Jacobs (right) - which was the UK's top fragrance for women 

The powerful perfume was released in 2016 but has since become a favourite amongst shoppers, with top notes of Almond, heart notes of Jasmine and Tuberose, and base notes of Cacao and Tonka Bean. 

Carolina Herrera also made an appearance on the list of men's top perfumes, with the male counterpart of her woman's fragrance, Bad Boy, which was released in 2019 and has energetic notes of Pepper and Bergamot, Cedarwood and Sage. 

Coming in second on the women's list was Tom Ford with Black Orchid, a timeless fragrance released in 2004 with notes of Black Truffle, Bergamot, Black Orchid, Black Plum, Noir Gourmand Accord, Patchouli. 

Black Orchid was the favourite for 21 countries, topping the fragrance lists in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Third is Marc Jacob's signature fragrance Daisy, which was the UK’s top women’s fragrance, but not as popular in the rest of Europe.  

This signature Marc Jacobs scent was also the number one in North America, Australasia and a large percentage of Asia. 

The fragrance additionally ranks highly in places such as Australia, the United States and China. 

Other popular scents for women include: Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent, Sì by Giorgio Armani and Femme by BOSS. 

Topping the list for men's fragrances was 1 Million by Paco Rabanne, followed by  Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford and Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier.
