INFOGRAPHIC: How ‘social’ is the project management training industry?

56% is the answer.

56% of accredited project management training providers are using social media today. We know this because we visited 1793 training provider websites, then went to each of their social media platforms and counted their followers on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and YouTube (yes we really did go to every site).

Why did we do this research?

At CourseConductor.com we are dedicated to helping people develop the skills they need to achieve their career dreams. Our role is to provide the customer review mechanism that enables professionals to write and share reviews about their project management training course experiences.

We aggregate course star ratings and share trusted customer reviews widely using social media. This helps other professionals find the best courses, and the best training providers easily.

Our findings in an infographic:

We discovered some incredible findings and we’ve answered our original questions using a very simple infographic for you. I hope you enjoy it.

This is the most comprehensive social media research that has taken place in the global project management training industry. Whilst the questions we had about the use of social media have been answered, by shining a light on this subject we now have even more! For example…

  1. Why do 44% of training providers have no social media presence?
  2. How do these training providers engage with new customers and grow their business?
  3. Why is it that 66% of the followers of project management training providers use Facebook, and only 17% use LinkedIn?
  4. Why is it that at a time when bite-size e-learning is on the rise, only 20% of training providers use You Tube, and only 4.1% of all followers use YouTube?
  5. What marketing tactics did the two training providers from Egypt (Computek) and Peru (BS Groupo) use to attract 23% of all Facebook followers in the project management training industry?

Craig, a fantastic piece of work. Very informative and thought provoking. I think we must have just come below your top 6 organisations in terms of the number of followers...... there again, possibly not. ;-))
