Splinter Cell: Blacklist teaches you to become what they fear in new trailer

Ubisoft released its latest trailer for Splinter Cell: Blacklist, showing off the newly re-designed Sam Fischer as he assumes control of Fourth Echelon.

Next to previous games in the series, Fischer's new and uncomfortable role as leader affects how players will tackle situations. And now, as game director Patrick Redding told us last week, Fischer isn't the only one to suffer for making bad decisions.

"We wanted something that felt like it would be a challenge to him," said Redding. "As a solo operative, a guy who's always been the lone wolf in the field, there isn't a lot that can be more challenging that being put in the role of leader. When you're on your own, you have your own resources. You have your own abilities, your own equipment, whatever it is that you can depend on. If you screw up, you only have yourself to blame, but you're also the only one to suffer for it."

Splinter Cell: Blacklist releases Aug. 20 in North America, Aug. 22 in EMEA territories and Aug. 23 in the U.K. The game will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC.
