Calgarians started their week with more snow and a snowfall warning from Environment Canada.

The federal weather agency cautioned up to 20 centimetres of snow could blanket the city before this latest weather event is done.

This snow is likely no surprise to anyone after what has proven to be an unseasonably wet winter.

The city of Calgary has exceeded its average monthly snowfall four of the past five months. The snow from the latest system will make it five out of six months.

The worst average month was February when the city saw nearly triple the average amount of snow it would normally get.

As of April 15, 2018, there had already been over 171 centimetres of snow at the official weather station, nearly 70 per cent above the normal November to April total accumulation.

The only month that was not over its monthly average snowfall was January, when it snowed 11 centimetres, compared to the monthly average of 15.3 centimetres.
