Staten Island Nightlife: La Terrazza launches late-night al fresco scene

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- La Terrazza held an invitation-only "soft opening" recently to unveil its craft cocktails and new menu.

Located in the outdoor seating area of the popular Eltingville restaurant Giovanni's Trattoria, the new La Terrazza is described by principals as the Island's "only true late-night al fresco dining spot."

Guests with whom I spoke raved about the wonderful ambience under the large umbrellas, with twinkling lights and soft spring breezes, which was second only to the carefully prepared food selections.

A good time was had by the 40 guests who sampled the complimentary food and were given opportunity to provide anonymous feedback.

"We'd like to thank those who joined us for the soft opening of La Terrazza," said Frank Rapacciuolo. "We gained a lot of valuable feedback which will will use to make the overall experience better for this weeks Terrazza Thursday event to kick off Memorial Day weekend."

Located at 3800 Richmond Ave., the new late night dining concept featured tantalizing menu items such as lamb chops, crab meat salads, and stuffed meatballs, plus craft cocktails.

La Terrazza will start accepting reservations this Thursday for the upcoming holiday weekend. Thereafter it will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
