What: Celebrate the thriving arts and culture scene in the heart of downtown Oceanside. The First Friday: Oceanside Art Walk will showcase live performances, jewelry, pottery, crafts and pop-up art galleries showcased in local businesses and public spaces.

What: The Friends of El Corazon is bringing family friendly FREE concerts to Mance Buchanon. Enjoy salsa lessons from 5 to 6pm, and Savor: A Santana Tribute will play from 6 to 8pm. There will be free activities for kids including giant bubbles, giant chess, corn hole, and giant jenga. If you walk or bike, stop by our booth for a free gift complements of Green Oceanside.

What: The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Division is offering an exciting program called “Moonlight Paddle,” where guests will get the chance to enjoy the beauty and romance of Oceanside’s Harbor under the moonlight! A short informational skills session will take place at the Oceanside Outdoor Aquatic Recreation Building (across from the Small Fishing Pier at the Oceanside Harbor) prior to launching the Kayaks. Please bring a change of clothes, as your clothing may get wet while paddling. The Recreation Division will be providing all the supplies needed.

What: Join the Oceanside Museum of Art on the first Sunday of every month for Art For All. This hands-on-art-making experience is available for all art levels, and is free to the public. What: The three-day family friendly event will be held at the Oceanside Pier and Amphitheater. This event promises to provide the public with a wide variety of activities that the whole family can enjoy. Professional and amateur surfers from Hawaii, as far north as Santa Cruz to our southern border. Surfers will compete for bragging rights in the Coalition of Surfing Clubs. This year our event will include a Pro/Am Invitational titled The King and Queen of the Pier. The event will run on Friday, August 11th with Finals Saturday, August 12th. In the Band Shell area just a few paces from the beach, vendors offer unique products or services and live music to the contest spectators as well as beachgoers.

What: The Oceanside Historical Society hosts the Downtown History Walks. Walks are free and open to everyone and are pleasantly paced so folks of all ages can participate. The tour takes approximately 2 hours. Walks begin at the Oceanside Civic Center Fountain at Coast Highway and Pier View Way.

What: All are invited to attend the Annual World Bodysurfing Championships held at the Oceanside Pier to cheer on 350-400 bodysurfers from around the world. The contest is projected to start at 6:30am each morning. The contest schedule will feature the quarter finals, semi and finals for all age brackets. The Men and Women’s Grand Championship Final will follow the last age group Final. Vendors will be featured with product booths on the Strand.
