MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Following a PSAC East Championship and the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Atlantic Regional, 15 Millersville baseball players join summer league teams to improve their skills against some of the top collegiate baseball talent in the country.
The 15 Marauders will play in seven different states ranging from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wisconsin and California. Marauders in the past like Tim Mayza, Brandon Miller, Reid Anderson and
Chas McCormick, used summer ball as a way to showcase skills for draft scouts.
Several Marauders continue to be teammates in the summer.
Cole Friese,
Alex Mykut and
Kris Pirozzi team for the Strasburg Express in the Valley League, which is based out of Virginia. Friese was an All-PSAC East and All-Atlantic Region First Team selection in 2019. Mykut and Pirozzi were both highly-regarded freshmen who Millersville will look to for increased innings in 2020. Express games will be audio broadcast through their web site and also live video streamed on their
Facebook page. The team's schedule begins on June 1.
Two of Millersville's top offensive performers in 2019--
Eric Callahan and
Jimmy Cain--head to the California Collegiate League for a summer with the San Francisco Seals based in Alameda, Calif. Callahan was an All-PSAC East First Team selection and hit .314 while setting a Millersville record for shortstops with seven homers. Cain batted .273 with 41 RBIs. The Seals' season begins on June 1.

Luke Trainer and rising sophomore
Jimmy Losh head to the Ripken League. Trainer joins the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts and Losh joins the FCA Braves. Trainer hit .326 with a team-best .440 on base percentage. Losh started 48 games at three positions as a rookie with the Marauders. The FCA Braves play their home games in Lorton, Va., and the season starts on June 4. Left-handed reliever David Hutchinson is also in the Ripken League, playing for the Gaithersburg Giants.
Two Marauders have joined teams in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League (SCBL).
Tyler Wright, an infielder, who redshirted in his first year with Millersville will play for the Concord Athletics. Wright's summer season began on Wednesday, May 29. Joining Wright in the SCBL is outfielder
Mark Miller, who joins the Carolina Vipers based out of Charlotte, N.C. Miller played in 30 games and earned seven starts in his redshirt freshman season.

Andrew Mayhew and rising senior right-hander
John Turner are with the Quakertown Blazers, which won the Atlantic Coast Baseball League (ACBL) in 2018. The Marauder duo are among 10 PSAC players on the roster. The Blazers' season begins on June 1.
Left-handed pitcher
Christian Wingard, a rising junior for the Marauders has signed on with the Fayetteville SwampDogs of the Coastal Plains League. Wingard was used primarily as a situational reliever for the Marauders in 2019, totaling 14 appearances and 8 1/3 innings. The SwampDogs' season started on May 28.
Right-handed pitcher
Bobby Dorta posted a 1.35 ERA over 20 innings and 12 appearance in 2019, and he travels to the Northwoods League to pitch for the Green Bay Booyah in Wisconsin. Dorta's summer began on May 28, and he pitched two shutout innings of relief in the opener. All of Dorta's games will be video streamed through the Northwood League's
website and mobile app on a pay per view basis.
A pair of new Marauders are getting a head start. Incoming freshman Darin Miller, a third baseman from Mifflinburg High School, will play for the KOA Sports Green Wave in the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League (MCBL). Cole Miller, a transfer catcher from Potomac State, will play for the Myrtle Beach 8's in the Myrtle Beach Collegiate League (MBCL).
