Summer Break

Start Planning Now

Hot topics

Before you know it, your school-age Host Kids will be on Summer vacation and that could mean a big change to your schedule. For some, this means that you will be spending a lot more time with the kids. If your schedule will be changing, now is the time to talk about it with your Host Parents. Remember that your working hours can not exceed 10 hours a day and 45 hours a week (less for Educare Au Pairs).

Wondering how you will keep the kids busy this summer? Start thinking up day trips that you can do, educational activities to keep them from forgetting everything they learned during the year and check out our Pinterest boards for tons of fun games, crafts and experiments! Also, check backpacks for summer reading lists and summer projects that might need to be handed in when they return in the fall.

Father's Day

Make this Father's Day special for your dad back home and your Host Dad! This year, Father's Day is on June 18th. Don't wait until the last minute to help your Host Kids make a sweet keepsake. There are tons of ideas on our Father's Day board

Go-Kart Racing and Exploring!

"Our cluster had a fabulous day going go-kart racing in Horsham, PA and then exploring the quaint town of New Hope, PA.  Go-kart racing was the girls’ idea, and it turned out to be a lot of fun." Read more about this event and see what other clusters are doing by liking the posts on our Facebook page!

Why Vivian Became an Au Pair

"I made a family and I learned a lot of things that I didn’t have in my country. I love my country, but I learned very much. For example, the culture. There is a different, like, um for example when I got here I didn’t know how to swim and my Host Dad paid a course for me and I learned here. The culture, the whole, everything is different. Also for that. Also for that. I know you have different food and different things in your country but also for that you gotta open your mind and say ‘okay, I am in a different country and I will try. I will try everything and I will see if I like it and even if you don’t like it you gotta be nice and try to do it. You know? Because sometimes if you don’t you say “I don’t like it” but even if you don’t try…So it’s not going to be good for you. And I just remember I went to all kinds of restaurants here, and good that I was in very nice restaurants too, and I tried all kinds of food that I didn’t try in my country. And I started to like things that I didn’t like before in my country." Watch her video
