Egyptian Rag by davidrovics published on 2013-07-03T22:15:52Z It was a shocking discovery for me a few months ago that most paper made during the latter half of the nineteenth century in the US was derived from what they called Egyptian Rag. Which consisted of the cloth that hundreds of millions of dead Egyptians were wrapped in for burial over the course of four thousand years. Digging up their bodies was, for decades, an industry in Egypt, fueled by the paper industry in the state of Maine. This is a track from my 15-song album, Into A Prism, which can be downloaded in full here: http://davidrovics.bandcamp.com/album/into-a-prism Genre Folk Punk Comment by davidrovics that's what I thought when I first heard about this. but there are so many things like that... 2021-06-19T22:58:58Z Comment by Terry It's a very sad lack of respect for past cultures.
