Voices among us...

Bishop Steve reminds us that we are not alone in the darkness this Advent in his Christmas Message.

The Ven. Aaron Perkins, archdeacon, explains The Service of Nine Lessons and Carols which was developed by the dean of King's College, Cambridge just after World Ward I. "I think people were feeling disjointed, and this was a way to come together in community. There's a case to be made that things are rather disjointed now, and the idea that we can come together I think has some appeal." Service will be held at Trinity Church, York Harbor on December 16. Join the new network of Maine Episcopal Evangelists

Cartoon by Jay Sidebotham

"At its heart, Episcopal Evangelism is a spiritual practice... It's a joyful sharing of what you know to be good news and deep truth, and a celebration of how you see God at work in others' lives and in the world."  If this is the type of evangelism that seems authentic to you, then you may want to find out more. The Revs. Kerry Mansir and Tim Higgins are Co-Chairs of this new network, which grows out of their experiences at the Episcopal Evangelism conference last March and connections with the Presiding Bishop. Join the Facebook group Maine Episcopal Evangelists, which is how we are sharing ideas and things we've done. You'll find other good resources on the Episcopal Evangelists Facebook group and at the Episcopal Church's Evangelism Resources webpage. Read new definitions of evangelism are here.
