ACTION ALERT: Ask Administration to Rescind or Revise Steel, Aluminum Tariffs

Mar 15, 2018

Trade is vital for soybean growers, and the threat of Chinese retaliation on soybeans as a result of placing Section 232 tariffs on imported steel and aluminum is top of mind for the American Soybean Association (ASA). We ask that you join us in highlighting the need for President Donald Trump to rescind or revise these tariffs.

Signed on March 8, the tariffs will go into effect on March 23. ASA asks states and growers to join us in asking the Administration to rescind or revise these tariffs before they go into effect. If on March 23 the administration has yet to rescind, ASA will keep you updated.

Our ask: Join ASA in asking the Administration to rescind or revise the steel and aluminum tariffs before they go into effect on March 23.

Take action through the Soy Action Center:

  1. Tweet the White House
  2. Sign a letter to the President and Vice President

Toolkit:

  1. Repurpose Soy Action Center links
  2. Join ASA each Tuesday by tweeting a message utilizing the hashtag #TradeTuesday as it relates to your state. ASA will focus on steel and aluminum tariffs and the threat it poses to soybeans each Tuesday until March 23.
