Feast Your Eyes on the Newly-Reborn Zoli’s, Now Open In Addison

Those famous ‘scronis have a brand new home, and it’s lit

Now officially open in its brand new home, Zoli’s New York Pizza can finally re-stake its claim as the city’s best destination for thin crust pies.

The new Zoli’s, located at 14910 Midway Road in Addison, is decidedly different than its Oak Cliff predecessor. Once just a small dining room with a counter offering pies, Zoli’s is now a gigantic full-service restaurant complete with a waitstaff and cocktail bar. But at least a few of the new space’s design elements — like the Oak Cliff restaurant’s bright yellow marquee, known for its snarky signs and the famous unicorn bust — remind fans who have been waiting for more than 18 months that Zoli’s is definitely back.

After all that time, the newly-constructed space is a real stunner, too. Sloped ceilings lead up to a high, cathedral-like vault overhead, complete with a glass-and-beam framework that makes the space feel bright and open. The dining room is outfitted in brick, steel and wood fixtures, along with wood panel tables and booths. The aformentioned unicorn busts dot the walls, and there is even a plush unicorn resting inside of the liquor cages hanging over the bar.

The restaurant’s characteristically snarky art has also returned, including a 10-foot reproduction of The Last Supper with Luke Skywalker at the center of the table, and a spoof of Jacques Louis-David’s Napoleon Crossing The Alps with a Stormtrooper instead of Napoleon. A yellow neon sign, reading “Y U No Eat Gluten?” further drives home the tongue-in-cheek vibe.

As far as the food is concerned, the menu has been upgraded and refitted for the new location. In addition to a full bar of cocktails, diners will find a menu of pastas (including a solid carbonara drowned in an “embarrassing” amount of pecorino Romano), appetizers like crispy cauliflower and fried mozzarella “nuggz,” and of course, plenty of pizza. Served round and thin or square and thick, pies like the Christian Pescroni (double pepperoni and a spiral of jalapeno pesto) and Lady Marmalade (ricotta and sopressata marmalade) clock in at around $15 each.

Zoli’s is now open for lunch and dinner, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Before making the drive to Addison, take a walk around Zoli’s NY Pizza courtesy of Eater photographer Kathy Tran.
