Caronport, the largest village in Saskatchewan, was our second destination on the CTV Hometown Tour.

We spent the first part of the day with the friendly students and staff at Caronport Elementary School.

Our next stop in the community of about 2,000 people was the renowned Briercrest College and Seminary.

Caronport recently bought a new fire truck, so we thought why not try it out? With the help of the local fire department, co-anchors Dan McIntosh and Danelle Boivin extinguished a fire in a controlled demonstration.

Afterward, we got a rundown of the rich history in Caronport, which was formerly known as Caron Airbase, a Canadian military outpost, during the Second World War.

Dan and Danelle broadcasted live from the community Tuesday on CTV News at Six.

On Monday, we were in Esterhazy and we will also be visiting Broadview, Yellow Grass and Lumsden.
