The Swift Bolero 744PR is Practical Motorhome’s Motorhome of the Year 2016!

This bold-looking, twin-lounge motorhome was crowned the overall winner at last night’s ceremony at Hampton Manor near Birmingham. And winning was no mean feat, as Practical Motorhome’s Editor, Niall Hampton, explains.

“In the final run-off round, where the judges had to rank the category winners in order of preference, there was a dead heat. But in this year of memorable democratic outcomes, we eschewed using an arbitrary casting vote, and went back over the scores for each ’van.

“This gave us a decisive result, and curiously, one that was foretold in Andy Jenkinson’s actual review. The only ’van to feature in the top three of every judge’s shortlist therefore becomes the overall winner.”

The revised format of our 2016 awards made it an all-motorhome affair. From micro-campers to tag-axles, we’ve got all your motorcaravanning needs covered.

Don’t believe us? With 10 categories from best innovation and best high-top panel van conversion to best motorhome for couples and best luxury coachbuilt/A-class, whether you tour solo, as a twosome or with the children or grandchildren, and whatever your budget, there’s something for you!

The 30 shortlisted contenders were revealed in our October magazine.

Swift’s Bolero 744PR was one of our class winners, scooping the ‘Best coachbuilt motorhome’ category, putting it in the running for the night’s top gong.

“This model carries a flexible and sociable layout that’s well suited to Brits who spend lots of time on tour indoors,” said our Editor Niall of the Bolero at the awards ceremony, ”and its decor and soft furnishings ensemble are decidedly upmarket.”

Head of Marketing for Swift Group, Andy Newhall, was on hand to pick up the company’s prizes.

Among the other award winners were the Rapido 665F which we crowned ‘Best motorhome for couples’, the Benimar Mileo 313 which took the ‘Best family motorhome’ accolade and Pilote‘s Foxy Van V540G, our ‘Best high-top panel van conversion’ of 2016.
