Is Turkey A Good Holiday Destination For October Half Term?

The long and short of it is, yes. Firstly, Turkey offers great value to holidaymakers, especially outside the peak season. In fact, many of our own villas in Turkey boast hefty early booking discounts this half term but this isn't just about us...  Back to Turkey, it's about a four-hour flight away and it presents a myriad of cultures to your little ones upon landing.

What's The Weather Like?

With a foot in both Europe and Asia, the weather in Turkey towards the end of October can vary depending on where you base yourselves. Three coastlines rule the roost - the Black Sea, the Aegean and the Turquoise Coast. And with great power comes great responsibility, which is why these coastal stretches are chored with being the most likely to deliver on sun, sun, sun! We're talking highs in the twenties from coast to coast.

Rain can pick up in parts once autumn hits, but the temperature itself maintains a balmy feel almost all over. Rain or shine, sea temperatures flounder at around 24C throughout October. But if you're more of a culture vulture, then Istanbul peaks at 20C at this time of year. Not bad compared to those cold, dreary school mornings, eh?
