THE AUTUMNAL EDIT

Autumn is here and I am ready to break out the bolder and brighter lipsticks. For Autumn I always lean towards rusty oranges, deep wine reds and vivid metallic coppers . These are the selection that I will be rotating in the coming months and all have a firm place in my makeup collection. Are you ready for Autumn?
Let's talk eyeshadow. I am a huge eyeshadow fan and I never go without it especially when I opt for a no eyeliner makeup look. I love having palettes and I have quite a few in my collection but these are the ones that scream out Autumn with it's warm and vibrant palette. I have a few single eyeshadows too which are very shimmery and almost metallic. And I had to include my most loved Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks which do not budge.

The Morphe Brushes 350 Palette is a much hyped about item that everyone wants to own. This is an overall warm palette which contains matte, shimmer and metallic shades in a wide spectrum of browns, reds and coppers. I have swatched a few of the shades which really stand out to me and they are pigmented and easy to blend. I can't love it any more than I already do and I do have a post on where to get your hands on this in the UK.

Make Up Revolution is an incredibly affordable drugstore brand that offers pigmented and creamy products. The New-trals Vs Neutrals Palette was on my wishlist for a long time and I eventually caved and bought the palette. The palette is beautiful and offers a selection of pink, golds and raspberry shades, all very autumnal and reminds me of pumpkins. There is a slight fall out in the shimmer shades which made my camera hard to focus but they blend beautifully and you only need a little product. I love the shade Trend in this palette.

For single eyeshadow options, I love the Nyx Show Girl which is a metallic orange copper  this has a fine and smooth formula which blends easily, I usually apply this all over the lid. The H&M Ginger Snap has been a firm favourite of mine and has been featured in many of my favourites. This is so creamy and buildable and the pigment looks exactly the same as the pot when you apply onto your eye. H&M single eyeshadows definitely need more hype, especially the metallic and shimmer shades.

Everyone knows I love the Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks since I did a whole post on my collection here, they are creamy, pigmented and lasts all day long. It also acts as a great eyeshadow base but you do need to be quick on blending since it does dry fast. The shades I thought were suitable are number 37 Burgundy and number 06 which is Golden Brown.

I am a picky person when it comes to blushes and I only have a handful that I reach for. For autumn I either reach for my browns/mauves or something a bit more vibrant. The first blush is from H&M Deep Brown which is a high definition blush. This is a buildable blush shade and looks great if you're going for a bronzey kind of look, the formula is smooth and really long lasting. There are some great shades in the collection.

The Benefit Rockateur is a firm favourite of mine which also belongs in the buildable category, it allows me to control how much I want to apply. Rockateur a light peach mauve and smells amazing. I 'depotted' this into a Mac Palette along with H&M Deep Brown since the packaging takes up too much space.

If you're looking for something with a pop of colour I like NYX's Bitten which is a deep raspberry red, this is highly pigmented so you do need a light hand with this. I love the High Definition Blush range from NYX.

Lastly, I thought I will include Kiko's Perfecting Bronzer in 01 Light Medium this can be used a blush and an overall complexion illuminator. I like this since the formula is smooth and the shade is builable and does not make me look muddy.

When it comes to lips I like to have a lot of options depending on my mood and the conditions of my lips. I like my matte formula the most and some are a creamy satin finish. I've included lipsticks, lip pencils and lip creams in this category. Most of these shades are a deep wine red or has a strong warm undertone.

Starting with lip pencils first, I am all about the formulas that are creamy and glides on easy. I don't get along with pencils that tug onto my lips and often need sharpening. I really like the Milani Lip Liner in Mauvie Star, this is a mauve colour but it looks deeper on my lips, I love lining my lips with this especially when I opt for a gloss of a satin finish lipstick as increases the lipsticks longevity. The other lipliner is from Etude House in shade 4, which is a Korean brand. this is velvety and pigmented not to mention affordable, this looks amazing under Mac Diva.

The first lipstick is from  Kat Von D Studded Kiss in Lolita, I swatched these shades according to the price of the product. Lolita is a matte formula and is dusty rose colour but it looks mauve on me, this is the everyday option that I go for. The next two lipsticks are from MAC and are both matte formulas; Taupe and Chili. Taupe is a red-brown shade and Chili is a burnt red shade. I love the formula of these and the vanilla smell.

Kiko 609 is a satin finish lipstick. It is a beautiful deep cherry red colour, it glides onto the lips smoothly but tends to slide so you do need a lipliner with this. I find that it only last a couple of hours on me but I do reapply my lipstick throughout the day quite often. I love the bullet of the Kiko lipsticks and they are very affordable. This lipstick is quite similar for MAC Diva.

I have a chubby lip pencil from Revlon's Colourburst in Standout. This is a vampy cherry red colour, the formula of these are velvety and matte. It also has a minty scent which I really like. This lasts all day on me and is easy to reapply.

The Maybelline ColourSensational Matte Lipstick in Divine Wine is one of my favourite formulas and product from the drugstore. I waited forever for these to launch in the UK and they are incredible. I love the colour of this which is a deep wine red with a slight purple/blue undertone which makes my teeth look whiter. I get complimented all the time when I wear this shade. The formula is creamy and velvety and lasts all day.

Lastly, I have the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen. This is a deep plum/cherry red shade. I like the formula of these since they glide on easily but as they are matte they do tends to dry out a little more than all my other matte shades. These last all days on me and they are really affordable.

I thought I would include a primer in this edit since I start to get a little dry in autumn. The Laura Mercier Foundation Primer is a firm favourite of mine and instantly hydrates my skin all day. the formula is light weight and gel consistency and does not have a string scent and creates a perfect base.

Finally, I thought I would include a nail varnish. everyone likes to glam up their nails and I thought Essies' Vernis would be suitable as it is a deep burgundy colour which is easy to apply and lasts a good amount of time on me.

That is all for my autumnal edit, I covered eyeshadows, blushers, bronzers, lip products, bases and nail polishes. I hope I haven't missed anything out and hope you've enjoyed this post! What are you most excited about in Autumn? Mine is differently layering up!

Unitl next time!
